Service Intervals

I picked up my 2015 35iS earlier this year having just been serviced by the dealer. Imagine my surprise last month when my service required light came on. On looking into the settings menu it appears that my service intervals are set to 4 years which cannot be right, can it ? At the moment I am assuming my dashboard light was triggered by a low battery charge but I'd like to know what the proper service intervals should be.

Service internvals on this car are condition based, the car's computers calculate when the service is due based on how the car is driven but generally it is every 2 years or 20,000 kms. Saying that I would ignore that and do an oil and filter change every year or 10,000 miles at least.

Keep an eye on the battery as it can cause all sorts of problems if it’s starting to fail, if in doubt fit a new one and have it register to the car

What service is required? Mine just came up with oil service which is being done today.

Apparently BMW major oil service is every 4 years...from date of manufacture...just called them about this. But how reliable the info is anyones guess as they told me that the 5 year service plan starts from Man date not purchase :? ...which is funny as the date is printed on the purchase invoice. Just read through the option codes on mine...and found 08KA... which is oil service interval 24 months/30000 km....
