??Service intervals/ oil change??

I have a 2004 Z4 and of course every time you turn the ignition it gives you a countdown of how many miles till service interval.. I notice that it kept going down, and then it started from 7000 miles again!! Are these the same as oil changes?? I put 6k on my car since I got it, and oil change did NOT come on yet.

Any advise?

Lots of threads around on this site with good info. That indicator is NOT a simple countdown but adjusts the count based on how you drive.

Did you buy the car new? In the US, it's oil change at 15K miles OR 1 year whichever comes first. I believe in the UK, it's 15K miles or 2 years. If you go past what's due, I believe it starts counting UP with a "-" in front of the numbers.

In the UK, an oil service is every 2 years unless the service indicator says so earlier...it's all in the owners manual.

Wow, that is great! I bought it used at a dealer, and the oil was changed then. It has low miles, and I take it easy on the driving part. I guess I won't see an oil change till end of this year!
