Service Interval Display

Hi Guys

Just a quick question about the service interval display as this is my first BMW. At the moment when I start the car it says oil service 13000 odd miles' do I have to wait till the whole mileage runs down before I get it changed or can I do it earlier i.e halfway through? Does the garage reset the service interval or is it something we can do ourselves with something like Carly/obd? When it is reset will it then countdown to inspection 1 or 2 showing onscreen?

Thanks

I don't know how to reset on the Z4, on my Mini you could use a combination of button presses.
As for the order of the services - that's all in the service book I think....

If you are changing early best not to reset otherwise your other services will be extended. Only reset at true service intervals, whether that be on time or distance based services.

Carly will give you service resets but its an extra in-app purchase. After youve paid €45 for the app :x
Any proficient garage will have the tools and will reset for you but prob best to remind them just in case.
I'll be doing my own oil changes every 5/6000 miles or so but will reset ever 2nd change. got 270k miles out of a former M52 engined beemer using this methodology and was advised regular short oil changes had been a component part of its longevity.
