Service history

Hi

Im currently looking in to purchasing a second hand z4.

The one i have seen is a 07 plate with 65k miles. However it has 5 service stamps. Should this he considered full history? From some google research there seems to be conflicting views on when it needs to be serviced.

Thanks

In most cases 5 stamps in this time frame/mileage would be considered full history. Preferably on a low mileage car (less than 10k a year) I would like to see the oil changed every year instead of every couple but most owners service to manufacturers intervals so your not likely to find this.
To be honest once a year and every 10k or so is better anyway than the modern stretched service intervals to suit fleet companies.

In general I'd be happy as max is every 2 years when mileage is low. You'd have to look at the service type, dates and mileage of each to really assess. For instance if the owner serviced it every year from new then it many not have been serviced for 4 years, or done 60k in the first 2 years with only 1 service.

Don't forget you can also check the full MOT history online to see what shows up as advisories and fails, annual mileage etc.

65k with 5 stamps sounds fine to me, obviously you need to check the details of the services and also MOT history

07 plate (9-10 years old) with 5 stamps and 65k, so that a service approx. every 2 years and 13k miles - sounds about right provided its a 2.0/2.5/3.0 car but as noted above, definitely check the specific details and do the MOT fails search.
