Hi all
After looking for an MC the last few months I've come across a number of lower mileage cars (<45k) which have gone longer than 2 years without a service, seemingly because they've been following the on board service indicator and haven't been doing the mileage.
For example; a 3 year gap between an oil change covering a distance of 10,000 miles.
My first thoughts would be to stay away, but as I've seen it on quite a number of cars I'm having second thoughts.
I was actually surprised when I first read about an oil change every 2 years, as on my previous cars I have always done an oil and filter change every 12 months even if I have only covered a couple of thousand miles, so 3 or more seems a lot!
Have any of you got cars that have had this gap between servicing and seen/ not seen any issues?
Would you buy one if everything else was in order?
Is it likely to devalue the car in future?
