service engine soon light up--help

03 2.5 sport 82k on clock , on my way to work today the ses pops up so when I got home I scanned it with the peake scanner. came up with:
2760---secondar air sensor (what and where is this?)
27db--accelorator and brake pedal implausible (this tells me what, that I have no control on the pedals?)
2796--electronic throttle control adaptation wrong. (should I reset this one with the key trick?)

Any clues on where to start?

My wife has had the car more than I have lately and only driving a few miles to work every day, now that I have it Drive about 3-4 times as much and of course completely different driving styles and road ways since I drive highways and she doesn't.

Many thanks in advance

I would clear the errors and perform a throttle reset (procedure on here if you search) and go from there.

That's on the basis that the service light has now gone out.

Secondary air is the air pump attached to the head near the strut tower on US cars. It's used to encourage the cats to reach operating temp quickly on cold start. Only N52 engines have sensors, not M54. Which got me looking up your codes, the interpretations are correct for an N52, not M54. Do you have an auto trans? The codes for M54 look more related to trans issues. See http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=9444&p=141255#p141252

Thanks for the info guys. It's an auto yes. So far so so good from yesterday. I reset the codes and reset the throttle adaptation so drove it a good bit yesterday. Only on occasion mainly due to traffic were there slight rpm jumps. I had a torque converter go out on a previous car before but it's not feeling at all like how that car did, though still not ruling out the solenoid yet either from looking at the topic post linked above.

It gives me a good place to look next, now if it is the solenoid where's it in on our cars to replace.

Take a look at the diagram on this page:
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=BT33&mospid=47798&btnr=24_0894&hg=24&fg=15

I assume it's showing the control valve body on the bottom of the trans. I've had spurious codes pop up before. I made a note for the record and reset, none of them have ever returned. Never had any physical symptoms though.

Just for an update.
Everything has gone away except one, the 2796. It hadn't reappeared since I reset the codes back in Nov until two weeks ago. I reset the code then and it popped back up Sunday. It's running good with no hesitation at all, since my first post I have replaced the pcv valve and hoses, and cleaned up the icv and there hasn't been rpm jump or anything, but the 2796 code is still puzzling me. I came up with this link when doing a google search: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=253564
Has anyone else experienced this one?
