Service Engine Soon Code P0174 - Air Intake Hose Boot 2003 E85 z4 2.5l

The Service Engine Soon Code P0174 came up on my 2003 E85 z4 2.5l. I drove it minimally for a few months with no noticeable symptoms. Recently, it started idling rough, jumping like. I took it to AutoZone and they put the tester on it and the code P0174 came up. I researched that code online and on YouTube. The code states “Reinstall Air Intake Duct.” I found a video on YouTube with a guy with the same problem (error code). It was a break in the aging rubber hose on the Air Intake Hose Boot. I went right out and lo and behold yep, I had a clearly visible tear in the hose on the boot. In the video the guy replaces the Air Intake Boot (which includes the fixed hose) and that fixed the error code. I went and bought the same part and just replaced mine. On first crank after install the idling is still rough and choppy, and the Service Engine Light is still on. Pics attached. Any guidance? Many thanks.

You need to check the the new hose is correctly attached at all points and hasn’t dislodged any other pipes. Make sure nothing else on the intake side is leaking. Clear the code (or get the code cleared). You may need to reset the adaptations too, as the car will have “learned” to run lean.
