Service due!!

According to the milage counter the insp2 is due in 1300 miles but I dont think the car will make it. It struggles to start cleanly,misfies and stutters and uses lots of petrol then yesterday the alarm was going off as I was driving home. Its gonna be soon.
 
Sounds more like electrical issues than anything service related.

I'd just take it in for the gremlins first and get the Insp2 done when you can. Don't forget that you have about 1000 miles grace on the Inspection without damaging your service schedule.
 
Service intervals usully have nothing to do with the way your car runs. You need to get that 'M' to a specialist asap before you do some serious damage to it.

Or just get all the problems sorted in one visit,saves time and messing around..
