Service cost and details

Hi All.
First post and after owning 68 cars in my time. 28 of them Alfa Romeo’s only 4 BMW’s.
I’ve always serviced and maintained them myself. The z4 however I’m wanting to maintain through BMW. I’m getting a little too old to be messing and my youngest son has turned my garage into a gym! I have to admit the Z4 is the only car I’ve ever taxed twice! I absolutely love it.
Anyway it turned 20k miles yesterday and is due a service in 4k miles.
I’m keen to know what happens at this service ? Will the dealer change the oil? Filters? According to the history the brake fluid is good for another year.
Also interested to find out how much I should expect to pay for this service.

TIA

Dealerships will vary, best call those closest to you for a quote and breakdown of the work that will be done.

At 20k its usually oil and filter, air and fuel filter and change of spark plugs whether needed or not.

My local dealership was going to charge from memory just over £500. A local independent approved by BMW only charged £370

I can't help with your question, but welcome to the forum.

Don't be surprised if you get asked to post a photo or two!

Who are you having a go at this time? BMW or Paulx19car?

Got any real advice for our new member?

The OP is following BMW’s promulgated guidance…so it’s obviously not a criticism of the OP…it IS a very direct criticism of BMWs obsession with reducing 3 year maintenance costs at the expense of long term longevity of the car..

My ‘real’ advice would be to change oil n filter no later than 10k miles or annually..

Hope that helps you?

And maybe the OP :tumbleweed:

:D thanks for you replies all.
It has indeed got a full BMW history i was just curious to see what your experiences have been.
I’ll get round to posting pictures.
Thanks again
