service at Grosvenor at Reading

Just picked up my car from Grosvenor for the service 2
£377 all in , i carnt praise them enough 1st class customer service.

Also reset a airbag light which i tripped when fitting the MFSW and set the keyfob to open and shut the roof and the bleeps all free off charge.

He mentioned i need the front bushes done there are very bad but i said ill do them my self then he proceeded to show me how to do them on a E46 and said i could borrow hes pulley at the weekend to get them off with.

I mentioned i worked at a precision engineering company so i would have no trouble pushing the new bushes in .He said that he could do with a new tool for his press to push the bushes in with as the one he had was a bit ropey. So a deal was struck i made him a new tool he would fit the new bushes for me and then do a full alignment too.

What can i say , you just dont get service like that any more its just so nice to come across a garage that actually cares about there customers.

Did you know somebody at this dealership? Or who did you deal with? Whenever my car is in for service at my local dealers it's only ever a service advisor (glorified receptionist) that I ever get to speak to. Would much rather talk to the people that actually work on the car.

Not married but feels like it some times....... :)

He,s a independent but a very big workshop and practically looks like a main dealership with nice reception area etc

cant remember his name but he is the owner and a total BMW man just get him talking and he will take you around and show you hes little projects, Eg M3 engine in a really old transit van ( the sweeney type) or the same again in a ford zodiac pick up apparently very rare only one of 5 in the country the car that is.I must admit i did pick the car up at the end of the day so he may of not been so busy.

He also mentioned a open day BBQ etc , i said i could probably get at least 15 z4 to turn up.

And if you have a imola red car he will love you.....

He Just comes across that hes not trying to rip you off , basicly he says if it dosnt need doing then we wont do it and charge you for the sake of it.

Hes welcome to the missis she costs more upkeep then the car..... :rofl:
 
In the true spirit of the Forum if this dealer is good then EVERY dealer must be good........... :roll:

Ooops sorry that only when a dealer is bad that all delers are bad....... :D
 
Agree with the above. One of the main service guys also does a lot of the reception work so they know what they're talking about. The ONLY gripe I have is they arent open Saturdays so as I live in SW London I cannot make it down there during the week unless i take a day off work. I have been told its now possible to drop the car in Saturday mornings tho when some technicians are doing private / catch up work but you cant get any work done same day.
 
Where in Reading is he? Sounds good, and as you say, what a pleasant change to talk to someone who knows and cares about their customers cars ionstead of plugging them into a computer and reading the answers....
