Serpentine replacement - tensioner as well?

Hi all,

E86 with N52, 173 thousand km.

I’m gonna replace my serpentine belt. Should I replace tensioner and pulleys as well? I have no idea when or if that has ever been done. I guess I can check the pulleys for play once I have the belt off, but I suppose there is no way to really test if the tensioner is still tensioning like it should. Is there some accepted replacement interval for the tensioner?

Was thinking of going for a complete kit, like this Ina one: https://m.autodoc.fi/ina/7883050. Anyone have any experience with this brand? Or should I just go OEM?
 
INA usually is the OEM brand for everything related to the pulleys, so that would be my aftermarket brand of choice for these parts.
I think the belts themselves are usually contitech.

Thanks, good to know! Yes, have heard belts are normally originally Continental.
 
Wow, that is a good distance! I think you are wise to change idler and tensioner as well.

It's only 107k miles...

I replaced my belt with a dayco one and also changed one of the pulleys as it was noisy.

It's Worth doing just incase.
 
Thanks, guys. Think I will go with the Ina kit and change at least belt and tensioner, also will check pulleys for play and replace if needed, otherwise just keep them as spares.
