Ok,

So as Euro cocked up once again and sent me the 4 INNER rear suspension arm bushes, when I wanted the OUTER ones, I thought "sod it" I'll change them all, so went and picked up the outer top rose joints and bottom bushes this morning (all Lemforder)

Cracked the OS off in a couple of hours, which included cleaning up, rust treating and painting the horrendously rusty lower arm (one with camber adjustment on it) replacing all 3 bushes and top rose joint. Did the rose joint and lower outer in situ with the bearing pull/push kit, did the inners on the arms, with the bench press, before bolting it all loosely back together.

Then onto the NS - Seriously, the two bolts holding the inner top and lower arms are a PIG to get at, due to the exhaust and shape of diff! Managed to loosen the lower arm one, and then FCUCK! It hits the diff as the bolt comes out, stopping it's removal!

Anyone done this? Does the diff or subframe need lowering? Haven't attempted the top bolt yet (inner of the spring lower plate) as time was getting on, and I was getting a wee bit annoyed, and had to come to work for 2030.

Anyone got any tips for getting the buggers out?

Mike

Ok, so apparently, BMW weren't having a laugh..

Ended up removing the diff from it's mounts to get the bolts out - Pig of a job, but made so much easier on the lift, not one I'd like to do on the floor on my back.

Yup, ended up changing upper and lower outer and inners, drop links and anti roll bar bushes. Off for an alignment tomorrow, getting my money's wort from this "Geocare" offer, think this will be the 5th time I've had it aligned for the one off payment,
