Seriously starting to cringe.....

As an M driver, I cant see what all the fuss is about. When I'm driving my M I tend not to worry about these things because I'm driving an M.

If you haven't got the cream people will always envy people who have. Sad really..... That's why I only brought an M. I Don't do half hearted sports cars. Anything below a 3.0 is a waste of time.

Absolute pointless thread. So what if an M drivers proud!!
 
When organising the English/Welsh meet, I have found it very useful where people have their car listed in their signature, so I know what people are turning up in. It doesn't need every mod listed with 3 photos, but 1 or 2 lines of small print is fine. Where I've had to trawl through a few peoples post history to work out what they drive and it's been a pain in the 4r5e.

I also think the signature ideally should be less than 3cm deep otherwise it extends the posts too much (IMO)

What I do think is necessary (and should be compulsory) in everyone's Avatar is their geographical location, even if just a County. (Useful when advertising meets or items for sale).

Cant believe i have missed this post. I am completely blown away by the people who always mention they have an ///M and how much quicker they are!! How much better they are!!!

I was going to start rubbing my 3.0l badge in the face of everyone who had a 2.0,2.2,2.5 on there car!!!
 
Also those who add an M badge to non M's and get the wrath of the M brigade.....

i'm going to stick an M badge on my Audi :evil: :lol:
 
I have an M as you know, but that 3.0 engine sure does sound sweet, had it in the 330 before.


Does that improve my standing with the non M drivers? :D

Nothing wrong in being proud of a fabulous Zed though . . . . :thumbsup:

The point is the 2.0i Sport can be lots of fun on the back roads of Northumberland and it's the driver that makes the difference, not the machine and as a 'driver' I appreciate that.

Got a young lad who sets a cracking pace on some of our NE runs in his 2.0 litre and I loved my 2.0 litre and the driving experience of keeping that rev counter buried deep. So much so that I had a long period of discussion on the forum about changing to the 3.0si, I didn't want to lose that fun or lose my licence.

On the road, fun can be had with all the Zeds (and half the fun is exploiting all their performance)

Half hearted. . . . :rofl: at what point do they become that?

Love this thread !

The TT RS lads get the same over on the TT forum, it really is quite amusing.

All the comparisons between the different models and the 'real world' driving experiences. RS owners throwing launch control numbers around etc.

But something you've done sometimes translates into something you've brought. Some people have worked very hard to be able to afford the car they want, and as such are proud of their car as it's a symbol of their achievements. The Z4 isn't really a car for those who don't want to shout about the car they own, surely we all fall into that trap.
Can't say I've noticed the M thing tbh, it's a great car with the engine I've always wanted to own. I've also owned a 3.0si which is also a fantastic car.
I don't see certain other members of this forum getting slated for bragging how their car is the best looking/best modified all the time, or the fastest? Surely that's the same thing?!

It's not about being proud of the car, more of what it represents (which of course will often be something somebody has done).

I'm sure I mention that my Z is an ///M more than Adamski would approve of, but I think maybe a 'chill pill' is in order :poke:

Can't say I can really recall anybody who constantly brags about their Z being an ///M and superior to other Zs. Sure, there are people on here who constantly brag about how wonderful their cars are, how they are the best, most unique etc, in almost every single post (i'll name no names :wink: ), but of course these don't really relate to ///Ms.
