Seriously fell out of love with Zed

Well, all sorted now, not really the cars fault and back in love.
The pothole had torn through the inside wall of both tyres, but the wheels survived.
The Goodyears have a rim protectors and seeing as the one tyre was run with the tread off for a couple of miles, did well to protect the rim. The bead overlaps the edge of the rim, even after the tyre tread had become detached so affords some protection.

Amazing how thin the side walls are. Look like they are made from an old pair of jeans. What ever happened to steel belted radials!

you are so fickle, blowing hot and cold.

(cos we are boy scouts.)
We have a 17" space saver in the boot, £35 from ebay.

We've seen people turn up here with a hole in their runflat the size of your fist and they hadn't even noticed.

Regarding the comment about holding onto a punctured car with ordinary tyres, it depends on the size of the hole doesn't it. It would have to be pretty big to make you crash.

My worry re runflats is when will the naughty boys realise that police stingers will have little or no effect!

Had a reply from Council, so will have to see what i get from them.

If they say NO! Then at least you have given them a chance to do things the nice way - Your next step is go and see your legal eagle and go for the throat - They will cough up and get his fee as well!

has anyone tried that gunk that you put in the tire as you fit them - they are supposed to fix punctures as they happen ?

I used PUNCTURE SAFE on ride on lawn mower their off road grade and that works a treat. Sealed thorn punctures etc. Also just installed in my mountain bike but yet to test due to weather. I've got non rft on my Zed but not using it due to advice from supplier that it can cause problems at speed on tyres with a profile of 45 and lower. Personally I'd be happier having such a product installed but would be a major psin in the ass having to remove if it did cause problems! I've got an inflator in the boot and a comprehensive breakdown cover. Small punctures can be re inflated and limp along to garage major failure and I'd phone a friend at RAC!

Anyone actually using PUNTURESAFE in a Zed with 18s or bigger?

Not when the tires are fitted, but I used one of those puncture repair kits you get with cars, but the problem is it will only give you 50 or so miles of driving before the stuff becomes a big ball of goo and you get a horrid vibration when driving and have to have the tyre off anyway - so only a temp fix.

Hope you get this sorted bob because thats just not on - as said, be nice with council, then if they say no - go legal. Best of luck!
