I wasn't able to do this again this year in August so if anyone fancies it what about the same run as last year but on Sunday Sept.11th?

I loved this last year but living in Cambridge doing the Sunday would be awkward for me. Il have to drive back afterwards and I will be exhausted. Cheers for being willing to host again though.

Yeh that's understandable mate.

Well we seem to be off and running. I will open a thread now on the Z3 forum and see if we can get some more to join in.

Any idea where you would be looking to start and end this? I would really like to see the Brecon Beacons and,of course, join a Zed meet. However, I need to measure mileage and time, as it's a longish drive for me.

Thanks

I'll be there, but I would say last year was rather long adding the to/from journey aswell . Maybe reduce the length slightly Brian ?

Sometimes "less is more" ....as the wife says

OK Number5 and RickRob the mileage will be reduced from last year. Now that the idea is on the go give me a week and I will sort out
a route and drive time!

Sometimes "less is all you're going to get"... As my wife says!

The date has to stay as the 11th Sept. guys as others who have already said ok to that cant make the 4th I'm afraid.
I went out on my planned route today so have some mileage and estimated time for you so maybe it will be ok for you
ZTec and the party time??
Different route from last year, but a little of it will be the same! I have reduced the time and mileage so that it also may
be better for people who have to drive home later.
Start will be Sarn services, Bridgend. Jct. 36 M4 again, Hotel on site for anyone who stays over! Get there for 8:30 to leave at 9 am.
Mileage is about 125. Drive out for about 3 hrs. with a wee stop and Optional 1 hr. stop for chat and lunch.
Then I was home by just after 2:30
9am until 2:30 pm. so about 5/6 hrs. Includes lunch stop but as I say we could make that a half hour stop!
Some great scenery again for photo's and some twisty and some quickie roads too! :coolsteer) Sunshine has been ordered at no extra cost!

Thanks for the information. Sounds great, but I have had an outbreak of reality and have reached the conclusion that driving for 9 hours in a day - 3 each way and 3 on the run - is too ambitious. I doubt that I can make the time to stay over.

Thanks again and have a great day!

125 Miles ? I thought last years was only just over the 100 mark ?

For me its about 60 miles to Sarn, so probably a 250 mile day (and I'm quite near) . So unless it's a 'Welsh Members' day, I'd say about 80-100 mile route would suffice Brian, especially if in numbers and waiting for catch ups ?

It's a lovely area and worth doing though, for anyone who does need to book a hotel and make it a weekend event.

Last year was more! we went up to Builth Wells and over to LLangorse Lake and back i'v cut that bit out! Thing is it takes nearly an hour to get into the Beacons from Bridgend. I understand though if its too much for a day? we could always pop up to Merthyr Tydfil for a coffee.
Seriously though if it is too much let me know, we can always call it off and do something else?

Are we all still up for this? :poke:

There is the option to just stop for a coffee and a pee! that way we can be back in Bridgend area
by 2:30ish. Ofcourse if your heading toward the bridge you will peel off in Merthyr and head down to Cardiff.
