Sepang Roadster @ Rochdale BMW

Run in service at 1033 miles then serviced at mileage gaps of 8829, 10234 and 11786 hitting the two year intervals before the service was due. Six registered owners is quite high but at least one is probably a dealer and not that unusual for the type of car.
 
Ok, been there.

Interesting as this is not "my" Vines, the customer relation was rather poor (guess as they don't know me there). Anyway, saw Michael after he let me waiting for a bit.

The car itself. Cold start took a while to settle. The car has obviously not run for a while as the starter motor turned very slow for a bit. After settling down, the engine did not sound as nice as mine did (more rattly), but did not sound bad my any means.

The car was soaking wet so it was hard to check the paintwork completely. I spotted scratches on the left rear bumper and the right rear bumper as well above the plate, tried to take pictures but not sure if it can be seen.

The engine had rusty bits here and there and needs a good clean. The brake disks were very rusty. PDC is aftermarket.

The driver seat has wear, the steering wheel is quite shiny. The mats were in the boot and were ok. There was a load of condensation on the inside of the rear window, but the car will have been outside for a while in the cold.

First thing I always do is waxoil all the metal under the bonnet so that's an easy enough fix. Rear looks like touch parking scratches, would look really bad on black but silver probably hides it a bit (was it noticeable from a few feet away?) bought to drive so a good haggling point but probably not a deal breaker. Little condensation inside probably ok given the weather in the last few weeks, a decent roof and rubber treatment would probably solve that as long as it didn't smell damp. Aftermarket PDC nicely matched but again maybe points to a touch parker who broke the last lot (position looks the same and look like E46 sensors maybe, similar to the ones I had on my M3). Seat wear looks ok for the age, needs a decent clean and feed. Disk rust looks like it would come off after a decent run (400 miles back to Scotland should fix it) as long as they aren't stuck on. Got to be worth a cheeky offer at £13500 :thumbsup:
 
The roof was absolutely soaked so difficult to tell, but no obvious fold marks to be seen. The wheels were all good, no kerb marks. The car was very tightly parked so difficult to get around it.

I did not see door dings but with the car covered in water that would be difficult. The headlights could do with some TLC as well as they were a bit yellow.

It is better that you are prepared for what I told you so it is not a surprise on the day or that you miss it - you know where to look now :D

If the condition of my M was 100%, I would rate this one at 70-75% compared to that.
 
I probably have a how to from many years back when I had a 3lr z4 on machine polishing the lights back to life when they get that foggy look, bit of toothpaste and some elbow grease works too. Talking figures now so see how it goes.
 
Checked the centre cubby as well, light worked and nothing broken there.

Always difficult to really see the inside of a car when they have gone mad with that cockpit shine spray stuff :D

Sounds like your sold on it.

Can't understand why the mats are in the but though. Means the carrier get dirty.
 
Reason it hasn't sold, they've done tyres all round, inspection 2 and rear brakes and are trying pull back some profit. Offered less than we buy any * for my immaculate trade in (why would anyone trade at that price when they can check online and get a better value?) and moved down all of £400 on the value of his as his best price. Leave him to stew on it, got the cash waiting and his will only be worth less next month. Wait for another to come up and have a look round some more in the meantime. Thanks for the help PVR, sorry if it ends up being a wasted effort.
