Sepang MC Anyone?

What I meant is that Wood/ Alu dash (at least for me) is deal breaker (unless the price is sufficiently adjusted/ marked to allow for rectification).

Ohhhh come on Steve, you can't put the wood and aluminium dash in the same category?!!! Alu is far more popular than wood and with a black interior, I feel brightens the whole place right up in a Coup :D

Spot on, cheers Maniac. It helps the decision. I have been researching/shopping for about 3 months now. I'm just OCD and anal when it comes to investing in something. Even if it is only for love and no sense. Just wanted to know if it was worth putting up with a shocking colour combo and flimper if the upgrades were reasonably attainable. Sepang is just one of my fav colours available so my options are open! I too will have a sobbing Z4M... One day... One day... Till then, it will be I who sobs quietly in the corner of an empty garage...

I completely agree, Alu is far far better than wood and they do not belong in the same category.

Alu dashes look good in most interiors, but for me, I prefer the carbon leather.

Although.......if you fancy taking me out for a spin to change my mind I'd always be willing

I liked the Alu dash in my Z4R. I think the reason a lot of us prefer the carbon leather is a) because we had Alu dashes in our previous Zed's b) because it's M specific and c) it looks pretty cool too - suits the character of the car.

Wood on the E89 is sexy so it can be done. Unfortunately this wood has never been sexy :D

Now a dark wood trim, with black interior..... that's a pretty nice (and bespoke) option. Any furniture restorers out there? :)

But wouldn't that then be a completely black (and therefore somewhat uninspiring) interior? Dark wood with black?

Phew, I'm glad you weren't putting them into the same category :D But yer, I agree exactly with what OG says:

But my car had Alu trim when I bought it, so that's how it's staying! Trim is not a deal breaker for me (unless it's wood..!) But given the choice I'd probs go carbon leather too, my previous 3.0i had the Alu as OG says a change would've been nice but hey ho!

Anytime time Steve :) I'm Bristol way...a possible move to the Mudlands looks possible by summertime so might have to sell the car Spring time anyway to free up some cash for house deposit  Not thinking about it too much at the moment though, just so busy so I've now got over 500 topics to read on this forum!!!

How much roughly would it cost to get this sepang up to spec? New seats, trim, dash, parking etc? I'm very tempted!

You've done your research on the Z4MC right? You know its going to be more expensive to run and maintain? If you're concerned about cost on trim, wait until you run it!

I see the point - rare colour, doesn't come up often, so I can understand the question.

with others on the dash, it sort of suits the 'coachwork'....imola, interlagos etc etc and it'd look wank, but on this it looks ok. suspect at the end of a month's ownership you'd be looking at replacement dashes though...it's not a carbon leather jobbie.

Is anyone going for this one? My cousin works in the trade and got me an HPI report and inspection if anyone would like it. Just send me a PM. I had to pay for the inspection but not the HPI. We can work out a deal on the inspection report.

I've decided to keep looking for a nice Ruby Black!

is the data contained within the HPI or Inspection report in any way linked to your decision not to pursue the deal?

Might help people decide whether they want to give you some money for your trash

Haha... It was the lack of toys and that dash tHat ultimately made my decision. Worst thing in the report is bonnet secondary latch needs repairing, also resprayed stone chips left side, and suspension ride is 1 cm lower on right rear but no cracked spring. No insurance accidents or claims reported. If anyone would like the documents in hand for peace of mind they are more then welcome to them for 20 quid. It's valueless to me now but if I can get a few beers out of passing it on then spot on! ;)

I can't imagine there were many Sepang Bronze Z4MC's specced with the wooden interior option. I saw this car sold last July through BCA Nottingham when it had 22,000 miles. I made a few enquiries with BMW and the car was 1st registered in Scotland and had the oil service carried out by BMW at about 1200 miles but there was no more info on their system. The Reg on the car was V9 DEX and the original reg was SN56LPU. The car sold for £14300 (plus buyers premium) which I thought was a lot for a car sold at auction without a full service history. The car currently for sale may obviously be a completely different car
