Sent wrong copy of Financial Agreement

Hi All,

I phoned up BMW a week ago asking for a copy of my Hire-Purchase agreement, but in the post today I have received a copy of someone elses :x This may mean that someone else has a copy of my financial agreement. Before I call them I just thought I'd check if anyone thought I had anything to be concerned about? There aren't any bank details on the form but just thought I'd be on the safe side.

Cheers

Firstly I'd assume that they simply printed off a copy of the wrong persons and mailed it to you, so there's no reason to assume someone else has a copy of yours.

If it doesn't have any details beyond name, addres, car detail and finance particulars then why worry?

Sloppy by BMW and of course you should point it out when you call back and ask for the correct one but not something to lose sleep over.

Write a letter saying how concerned you are at the possibility of your confidential information being disclosed to a third party. Who knows may prompt some recompense - if you don't try....

do they owe much less than you, pretend you have not realised its some one elses agreement and ask to pay it off, then run hehe

If they can't find yours you won't have to pay it! :)

If only - but you could try not paying the instalments and see what happens

wouldn't happen these days with computer records but if all the relevant signatures and paperwork went missing they would have a very difficult time getting their money!

Hardly any need for physical signatures these days. I was working with some guys last year that are introducing a system to the UK credit industry where you digitally sign your credit on line in store. It times how long you read each disclaimer, and everywhere you ticked, completed, etc. Wraps it up and locks it digitally so the agreement can be sold on or even digitally played back in court.
