Selling the Zed, thoughts on price

So, it's time to part company with my Zed. It's a 2009 3.0Si roadster in Titan silver with less than 24k on the clock, individual black and Imola red interior, cruise control, Bluetooth, boot spoiler and 108s.

The car has always been kept garaged overnight while I've had it (2.5 years) and is in good condition aside for some damage on the front right corner of the bumper (object fell over in the garage while I was out and I didn't spot it when putting the Zed away, so it gouged a mark about 6 inches long in the corner which can probably be dealt with by one of the minor repair specialists)

Given the low mileage things like the interior I'm thinking I can maybe get £10k. Does this seem reasonable?

You might want to get the damage repaired beforehand to increase your chances.

I'd be suspicious of a car which has some slight damage which could (in the owner's view) be easily repairable. If it is that simple then why not get it done yourself?

Because I want to sell it before I have to renew the insurance, if I can get it repaired quickly I will otherwise it will have to go with the damaged bumper.

Should sell easily at that price

Just my view but I wouldn't bother repairing the damage - if the rest of the car is pristine then it's an honest declaration at sale - also there is always a risk of paint mismatch on a repair that can end up raising more questions than solving

Good luck

From what I've seen advertised lately, 10k is on the cheap side based on year, mileage and spec.

As Spikey said, leave the damage, declare it to any prospective buyer but don't get it repaired. Silver is an absolute bitch to match/blend in. What you don't want is to draw suspicion.

You've owned for nigh on 3yrs, for me, that tells me the damage is genuine on a genuine car.

If I'd not bought last Oct, I'd be very interested at 10k.

Get some pics up, Service History and full spec and pitch it at a price YOU want from it, GLWTS if you do decide to sell.

Not sure I agree. I think that damage will put more people off particularly if you are trying to sell it as a cosseted second car. You need to try and sell the car, any car, that potential buyers think has been well maintained and isn't going to cost them any money in the foreseeable future.

Depending on how bad the damage is a £200 repair could be a good investment not only in terms of achieving a better price but also in terms of attracting more punters. You are already thinking of selling it cheaply - invest a couple of hundred and get another thousand.

10k sounds low to me, you'd be hard pressed to find another 3.0si Roadster with under 30k miles.
