Selling the Z4 35is in 2018

Hi guys,

Loved the Z so far (3 years next year), but it's time to sell.

As some of you are aware, every year I make a European trip and bring the car back to the UK for it's MOT. Unfortunately this won't be sustainable for me anymore (lifestyle changes), and it's a legal requirement to keep the insurance valid.

Importing is not an option, as the cost to import is astronomical (nearly £15k) due to the co2 and cost to buy new here (nearly 100k euros after taxes), which is what the import duty is based on.

Therefore, sadly he has to go to a new owner.

I've also had no time to perform the upgrades I wanted to, so it remains completely standard (engine), with the only upgrades being brakes, suspension, wheels (but those will be staying with me, OEM being fitted), stubby, ceramic coating and 3M protection film.

When it comes back next year (before the summer) it will have ~45k miles and full service done by BMW. The OEM wheels will also be refurbished and come with OEM Run flats too.

What's replacing it you might ask? As this country has stupid tax laws then a 435xd will cost a fraction of the Z, so I will be sourcing one from Germany. Either that or a 430d cab (can I live with having a roof for my fun car?).

If anyone is interested in a 35is next year, let me know. Open to sensible offers nearer the time. Absolutely adore this car - gutted. Just to point out; zero issues! Better than any other car ownership experience.

Hi there - thanks for the heads up. Wasn't sure as I won't be selling until April. I will advertise officially nearer the time. This is more of a "good bye soon" to the nice people on here and a heads up for next year in case anyone wants a 35is

The ‘selling’ title and ‘open to sensible offers’
Edit those out and you’re good to go, or just add a price
Thanks

Looking at the power sockets,I would guess NL (in combination with tax rules).

Croatia. It lives in a garage most of the time, then enjoys the dry weather and beautiful coast lines

Where are you that it costs nearly £15k to import a Z?

Over here it's based on a combination of "how much did the car cost new here", plus CO2, minus depreciation.

There's another 35is for sale in Rijeka for 50k euros (2013 admittedly, but still)!

This car was a 100k new car here with taxes. Hence 15k seems "cheap" to the tax office.

Where's that ... Croatia? I got charged €6800 to import and register a Z4 in France ... I thought that was bad enough! I'm glad I live in France and not Croatia! ... :|

Yep, a joke really. Oh well. I'll enjoy fun cars again in a few years time (I hope!) :driving:
