Selling my heavily modified Alpina!

Curtis,

Do you have an pictures of the damage? Did it occur in your ownership?

It might help you sell the car if you can show people the extent of the accident?

Si :D

Unfortunately I don't, I bought in May 2006 after it had been repaired. It must have been fairly light though because the oil cooler, aircon radiator etc were still original and they sit right at the front. I obviously checked the car over thoroughly from nose to tail before buying and since then I've practically rebuilt this car over my ownership and there's no sign at all of any other previous damage. That said I still have to sell it cheap because of the history so grab yourself a bargain!

super duper nice car!!! any dyno #s?

It's been dyno'd twice. The first time was when we were testing the Gruppe M intake. I can't remember the torque figures but the standard HP was 311. It dropped by 1% after fitting the Gruppe M but that was with the car stationary ie no ramair. Anyway, the Gruppe M has gone so that's irrelevant. The second dyno was after the exhaust and high output coils were fitted and a few settings were remapped slightly to allow for greater tolerances. HP rose to 328. Not quite as high as an ///M however the car is much lighter than an ///M and now has a rear axle ratio of 3.62:1. Torque is also very high ( this is a trait Alpina love when they design engines ). Also there's no speed limiter although you can choose to set one maually using the pop up display but why would you?!!! Rev limiter is set at the standard 7250RPM but could be raised safely if you wanted. The car hits the limiter at 170mph in 6th so an extra 250rpm or so on the limiter might be fun!!

wow, that car must be silly fast!!! every pic above has a lovely looking lady in there ... package deal?

jk jk :P

good luck Curtis!!!!!

That gearing is pretty short vs a 3.0i, which is doing 4000rpm in 5th at 100mph, this is doing about 4200rpm in 6th at 100mph!

Must easily be on a par with an M model at that with ~ 330bhp and the torque!

Loving the CSL's with Alpina centre caps too :)

Yeh, the gearing change really made a difference, before that 5th and 6th were pretty much useless other than for cruising.

When stock the Alpina and M had identical 0-60 times. M had a bit more power but the Alpina was a lot lighter. Now the Alpina power is up and it weighs even less so who knows!! One things for sure, it goes round corners and stops better!

The lovely lady was specifically chosen for her light weight so that she wouldn't unbalance my careful suspension setup. I'll probably take her with me for the next car for the same reason. Sorry!!!

Hey Curtis, thanks for taking me out in the Alpina when i popped over on saturday, got me thinking about getting a re-mortgage :driving:

Just to let any potential buyers know that this car is fantastic! makes my 3.0l feel like a big wobbly slouch!

Condition is fantastic and to say that it's quick is an understatment! But it's not just the straight line performance thats great, it goes round bumpy country corners like its on rails!

The work thats gone into this alpina is second to none, he's taken a great car and made it superb! a real bargain for anyone with the money :(

Good to hear from you Memo, it's been a long time. Good luck with the Talon. I'll be waiting for your call.

Due to the fact that I have just paid a deposit on a boat I'm open to sensible offers on the Alpina if anyones interested?

Where you in the St Georges area of Bristol around lunch time today parked near Smiths Auto Accessories shop?

If not there's a double out there, if it was you the car looked amazing. I swung by twice in the van having a nosey, wheels really suit it!

Hi ya matey

Is your car lowered at all and what size are your wheels on your car?

My other query is, where did you get the front spoiler / lip for the car matey?

Car sounds excellent mate and hope it goes to a good home :)

My car is on coilovers and I can set the ride height wherever I like. At the moment the car is about as low as it can go without grounding out on speed bumps. It is fully cornerweighted also, ( that's the main purpose behind coilovers after all ).

The wheels are 19" CSL rims but the Alpina's have 19" Dynamics as standard anyway and thankfully were never fitted with runflats!

The front spoiler comes standard on Alpina's. You can buy them from the stealer pre painted if you fancy one for a Z4 and I'm sure there will be independents out there selling a bit cheaper than the stealer

No problem, if I'd been in the Z4 I'd have pulled in cos you were in the car 2nd time and had a word, looks a bit dodgey some random bloke in a van stopping though!!

As mentioned by TZ4 it does look bloody low in the flesh, I noticed it particularly coming down the hill towards it, a crackin car for someone
