Selling car on ebay? Classified or Auction?

After limited interest in selling my Z4M on auto trader and pistonheads I might also add it to ebay.

Would people recommend using their classifieds or an auction with a reserve/starting bid?

I might also ring some dealers to see what they would give me as a direct sale. I think that will be a road to nowhere though.

Have you tried wewillbuyyourcar.com got a very good price for mine last year :)
£2500 more than "we buy any car"

If you are using ebay go for a classified ad, you get 30 days for a set fee, make it clear you are open to sesible offers.

Whereas if it is auction its 10 days max IIRC and the charges can be pretty hefty on the final price, I assume you will also put a reserve on which adds to the fee.

Good luck.

Right I went for a classifiedAD.

Hope it looks alright.

Have you tried Trade Gong? I sold my car there recently at a good price. It´s a relatively new site with great promises for classifieds & auctions allowing you to buy or sell anything at no cost. Above all it´s free. Posting youe ad there won´t hurt you abit.

I sold my 330cab and my Boxster S on ebay. With both cars I just made it clear I was using eBay as a shop window and I expected to conduct the sale as a normal sale. i.e. Give a viewing/test drive and then take it from there, conducting the transaction in person.

Yeah I was gong to say Matt sold it ages ago. Heavily modded VX220 now.

One would hope after two years it had sold...
Eta damn, beaten to it. Have just had a power nap (2.5 hrs) which may explain my tardiness.

But I might change my mind and use the site as they have some lovely looking Nigerian land for sale. Where do I send the deposit? :fuelfire:

Im just studying how to use the forum and have to apologize for sending replies to an old post; I did not realize it as I am new and eager to contribute. Once more, pardon me.

Dare i ask what you were looking for in the pit of two years past?

Hi Talksthetorque,
Your comment on Nigeria is quite impolite. I was not hoping to encounter uncout and umpolished comments to my post when I joined this forum. I hope you do not want to imply that you have problems with certain people & places. Im new here, posted in error and apologized after some polite fellows drew my attention to it. You decided to take the ungentlemanly route and pass uncomplimentary comments about a country you obviously saw on a site I made mention of. Your comment suggests HATE: refrain from such. This is 2013!

Hi Marshag,
First of all let me apologise, You appear to have misunderstood my comments. I did and do not want to appear ungentlemanly and impolite.

I didn't say I hated anything. I described what I saw on the website as lovely looking Nigerian Land that was for sale. The picture was quite small though so perhaps I didn't see it properly. the listing has finished now though , so I can't go back and check.

The Smiley at the end - :fuelfire: - indicates someone
"comically fuelling the flames of the argument"
and definitely not burning anything.

I did not mean to cause offence with my uncouth and unpolished comments. I am from the industrial North of England you see, and the schools there are not very good. In fact they closed my school down it was so bad. (This really is true)

I hope this increases your understanding of both myself and the forum and further integrates you in to the forum community.
Perhaps I can offer further guidance.

It might also be Gentlemanly and Polite to notify the Moderators of your connections with the website that you wholeheartedly recommended.
It is considered bad etiquette to post a recommendation, without revealing that you are the owner of said website.

I'm sure this was an oversight on your part, what with your enthusiasm to help other forum members, but perhaps you could drop them an email or a message, explaining your innocent error, apologising and promising to adhere to their rules, or perhaps take out paid advertising, as a way of showing your commitment to the forum.

Finally why not introduce yourself to the forum. You know. Pictures of you with your Z4, and answer the all important "Holy Four" questions.
Is it a coupe or a roadster?
What colour is the interior and exterior?
Have you had your rear springs replaced?
How long is your aerial?

Stay cool. Love the Sculptures by the way.
No I'm not buying one though.

Ouch.

These tyres look like a bargain for an M owner. A future purchase though as they are being made in 2020.

I like the fact that the multi coloured site logo doesn't look at all like a mad child with a crayon has glimpsed the eBay logo and decided to make their own.

Bravo
