Selling alloys - advice needed

Hi all

I'm going to trust the honesty of the forum family here and ask advice on what to sell something for!

I have a set of 18" MV3 in my garage that I wont be using. They're in ok condition, but if I were putting them on my car, I'd probably spend the time getting them refurbed.

I'm looking to sell them, but have absolutely no Idea what they're worth, or whether the forum and/or ebay are the best place to sell them. Going to take some pics later and get them up for sale, but would welcome any thoughts on where to pitch them in terms of price.

Thanks as always

Stu

What size are they & do they have tyres ? Depends the size & condition of the wheels. I sold a set of 18 " mv's 2 with very good dunlop tyres for £400 but the wheels & tyres were like new !

have you had a look on ebay for what previous ones have sold for? Normally a reasonable starting point.

Wheels are ok - a little scuffed and kerbed - as I said, I'd get them refurbed if I was going to use them.

They're 18's and have no tyres, so they're a project for someone as opposed to a straight swap onto a car.

Reckon they must be worth something though - refurbed and booted, they'll look the bomb!! I just don't know what that amount is!!

Re oem alloys, I expect 250 is a good price. I'm always on ebay looking at alloys, and perfect 18s often go for 350, a lot are a lot more but don't sell, you see them readvertised time and again, decent with poor tyres at 250 and those needing work are 200, scruffy wheels often go for 150 but at this price point often one will be buckled etc. These are selling prices, not necessarily what you may ask as a starting point for negotiating........

I sold mine at £400 tyres were good brand new rears and front 5/6 mm , alloys were ok but not great. I would say without tyres and "ok" condition your struggle to see above £200 on a good day "I guess" £150-£200 and I would say ebay is your best bet subject to a good ad and pictures

Appreciated guys - B/I/N £195 on ebay it is I guess then...
You'd be better trying on here first to avoid ebay fees, which will be about 10%. With a captive audience i'd definitely try here first. Personally i'd be annoyed with myself if I listed on ebay and forum member bought them, you could sell for less and get more... Good luck

Before I purchased my BBS alloys in November last year I looked into getting a set of MV3's, a reconditioned pair without tyres were going for about £600.00, or a similar price for a scuffed set with tyres. I was outbid on two sets of shadow chrome MV3's with tyres going at over £800.00. That's why In the end I decided to go with the brand new BBS wheels and tyres for £1200

List them on here with photos and see what someone will offer you for them, if your not happy with the offers then try eBay, however I would be tempted to get them refurbished in shadow chrome as I think they look lush on the e85
