Exactly the same here, mind you it helps you realise just how many thickos are out there! Frankly I am getting fed up with being shunned as if I'm some sort of social pariah but mark my words there will be those who will practice "social distancing" (a phrase I absolutely loathe) and wear masks long, long after the virus has been and gone. If you are bothered then use some common sense and simply wash those area's the buyer has touched. Keep and use his car keys or his driving licence as security while he goes out on his test drive assuming you don't want to be in the car at the same time. Do also remember the odds on you not catching it are well and truly in your favour.
Now cue those who will tell me why I am so wrong and why...........

That's a fine idea, but supposing that the person is a car thief - breaks into some poor souls house, steal the car keys, has a spare stolen driving licence to use - then turns up to view yours and heads off into the sunset having LOL. What would you tell your insurance company, I gave the person the keys, take it for a drive!

Just heard on the radio yesterday that the CDC (US Center for Disease Control) and the WHO said the mortality rate of those contracting the virus is 0.23 percent.

Just did an Internet search and couldn’t find that exact number but found lots of articles that had very low numbers. It was originally predicted to kill 1 to 2 million in America...last number I heard was 140K.

It seems to be the biggest concern for those 70 and over with comorbidities. So sick old folks probably don’t want to buy your car anyway.

Of course you have to do what you are comfortable with but personally I am trying to live my life as close to normal as TPTB will graciously allow!

It's not necessarily the death rate, it's the lasting effects. I have a friend who's just turned 30 and she was on a ventilator for 8 days and now has reduced liver and kidney function. I had it 8 weeks ago and still have an inhaler and can't do any exercise as I get out of breath instantly. No idea how long this will last, maybe forever who knows.
It boils my piss that people are overlooking these things tbh, but hey what do I know....

I know he was a little hesitant to talk on my phone when I handed it to him so he could speak to the notary, however he did. We did literally shake hands on the deal when he picked up the car.

Personally I am not afraid of contracting this virus but I can, to some extent, understand those who are.

Regarding your last paragraph, I have to have my mask fitted when I drive into my works estate. It has to be on my face before I get to the security guards who perform a temperature check on every employee, so don't call everyone a '' sheeple'' simply because they have a mask on whilst driving, because they just may have to or they'll get sacked :poke:
 
If you are one of those who are worried about this COVID thing, understand this...
The 6 foot rule is to prevent touching (your reach is slightly less than 1/2 your height and most people are 6 foot or shorter)
Just use common sense like you would treat the cold or flu - wash hands, cover your cough, don’t lick door knobs - live your life!
 
From a buyers perspective, I've just bought a Z4 and as I'm not in an at risk category at all I was happy to take it for a test drive with the current owner. It was a sunny day so with the roof down we weren't breathing each others germs so much. Tbh the only difference to usual in the whole sale was that we didn't physically shake hands at the end.

The way I saw it was that I'm in far closer contact, with a lot more people, who I don't know if they have been feeling unwell, when I'm walking around ASDA every few days than I am buying a car from one individual. Social distancing is there to reduce the spread but it's not a case of some activities being 'safe' and others being 'unsafe'. And especially if you need the money (sorry you're being made redundant) I wouldn't stress over this too much too.

People will ultimately make up their own minds about what risks to take with Covid, so if you are happy to let others test drive it with you in it then there will be plenty of buyers willing to do so. Or as others have suggested, there are some alternatives

Not disputing what they're telling you over the pond, but in the UK it is based on how far droplets are likely to be expelled in still air.
We even had government adverts showing people coughing and highlighting the fall of the droplets.
Just half an hour ago, at Prime Ministers Questions, it was explained that research has shown that being 1 metre from someone for 6 seconds is the same infection risk as being 2 metres from someone for 1 minute.
That's without any flailing of limbs :) (and of course assumes one of you has the virus already).
 
that's kinda my point - 6 foot distancing won't help airborne transmission - and oh by the way - it can transmit though contact with your eyes - so more proof that the 6 foot rule is to minimize physical contact. [ever watch the cloud when someone exhales while smoking a cigarette or from vaping?]

Oh right?
Your post read to me that you thought we were 2 metres apart to prevent physically touching each other as that is how it transmits.
My point was that it is more to minimise airborne infection.
As ever, we are two countries separated by a common language :D

And the eye route is being missed by all the mask wearers too.
Seriously, wearing a mask is to prevent you giving it to other people, not you catching it. If you think you have need to wear a mask you should not even be around other people.

Anyway, we digress. Sorry OP. :roll:
