Selling a Z4M Coupe? I could be interested

I owned a csl for 3 years, so know the alloys well. Back in 2006 there was a manufacturer producing reps with all the correct stamps and numbers...so was a bit of an issue back then in the csl community.

I remember that .... There wasn't BBS stamps on the rear though. Many people caught out though as they even weighed the same as OEM !

Yikes, £18.5k for a 57k miler...prices must be on the rise!

Or the dealer is asking too much. There is an Interlagos blue car on PH for £19,750 from a dealer. This same car was up at £18K in November (private sale) and I quite fancied it at that price. It was Scotland with 22800 miles on, now in Surrey with 23,300 miles on and £2K dearer. I wish I had got there before the dealer did.

As the mileage goes up,so does the price.....lol...

Wonder whats gonna happen to prices in the spring ?

I went to see that one in Tonbridge. To be fair it's a lovely looking car, in great cosmetic condition, nice interior. There is no paper work to suggest the CSL's are genuine (so let's presume they are not). It has an aftermarket exhaust (not sure of brand) which cost £650 when new. There is a fair amount of paperwork on it, but the last 2 services (inspection 2 and oil) were done at the selling dealer. The salesman gave me the story the chap is wealthy and is always in buying and selling cars from them so asks them to do the servicing.....I guess that could be true, who knows.

I saw it up at £18500 and he didn't want to move a bit....I bet he wished he taken my offer of £17.5k now....if you could get that for £16k with tax then it seems a good buy.

Have you checked the "how to spot fake CSLs" thread? From the photos they look to have all the tell-tale sigsn of genuine CSLs. Of course, there is a possibility that a manufacturer could have become very astute at "faking" CSLs, having all the correct stamps / markings, but there are so many out there who buy bad fakes, why would they bother?

I'm guessing by not adding the BMW next to the badge and BBS on the rear they can state they are the same 'style' but not copies. If these were added I guess they would be asking for trouble.

As a rule, normally dealers get their pricing more or less right...we (geeky forum members :driving: ) aren't always the truest indicator to the normal market condition.

The thing is ... 57k miles is still pretty low! And I know I'm stating the absolute obvious, but as each year flies as it does, the cars age another year and somebody puts a chunk of smile miles on them!

So as long as the cars remain desirable ... Miles on them are going to be getting this way.

I could be selling mine...

I now have to drive to work a decent distance and wife has the baby fever so I think the z4 will need to go.

Anyway its a coupe, carbon black with the champagne interior 58k miles, just had an inspection 2 and 4 new tyres.

Cheers
