Selling a UK car in Serbia

So - me and some mates are doing a road trip to Belgrade, Serbia next month. We dont really fancy driving all the way back so either want to scrap the car or sell it - whatever is legit and easy to do.

I have done some searching on the net but nothing obvious come up.

Any advice from you guys?

If you're seriously thinking of scrapping it, put a sign in the back, "free car" on the last day. Some local will take it and be grateful I'm sure!

Yea we are - we just want it to be done properly without any follow up from the DVLA or the like.

Would I classify it SORN? So there would be no links back to me/us?
 
There's a section on the V5 to say it's been permanently exported. You'll receive a letter saying you're no longer responsible for the vehicle same as you would if you sold it on.

This might happen before the last day and without the sign. :rofl:

There is, but it's only if you export it for your own use abroad. I just sold my old car to my sister in France. She had to have the entire V5 in order to register the car in France and I then had to to send a copy of the V5 to DVLA with a covering letter saying that I had sold it to an overseas resident. This was the advice that DVLA gave me, although I haven't had notification one way or another yet....

i sold my car to trader who had sourced it for a client abroad. I'm pretty sure it was the export section i was asked to complete and i eventually got a letter from the DVLA to say that they had noted i no longer had the car.
