Selling a one off!

Please don't take offence johnbeech79 we are a happy lot and tend to poke fun at each other without meaning any harm. You have a fabulous car and if I didn't have one I like already I would buy it GLWTS

why you would put this amount of effort into a 5 spd 2.5 se :?
Ive owned a 2.5se ( bought with issues ) , once fettled it did everything "ok" but not exactly a model you desire to own :(

Why, oh why, are you trying to destroy the OP's ad, and put off anyone that may be interested? Why would you do that?

I 'Think' this is a previous forum car....
Yep, it used to belong to your (almost) namesake 'john-z4' :P

Yes, indeed it was.
I had the pleasure of meeting John, the Original owner of this car a few times on runs, National meet, etc.
He owned it for years,in its Original Titanium Silver.
It was a very well looked after car
Then one winter he decided to do a few mods, which grew arms and legs....
Until he finished with this wonderful z.
Seen it in the flesh before John sold it(2018),and it really is a beautiful looking car, with many nice touches, and lots of John's hard work.

Definitely one of a kind

Did he do the paint job himself as well? I wonder if he would do mine as well.

I'm sure he told me he dud, sprayed it with a spray gun in his garage,if I remember correctly.
It really is an excellent job, with rx8 seats, etc etc.

Some colours suit cars more than others, but I have to say this is the best 'unique' respray I've seen. Absolutely suits the E85 down to the ground. A beautiful example.

Well done, and GLWTS.

Wow. That's seriously impressive for a home spray job. He must have experience with spraying possibly even as a hobby.

I'll be spraying a log cabin at some point but that's a different ball game.

Yes,it's some seriously impressive work from top to bottom.
He joked when I first talked to him after he had done it,on a National meet, that he had only planned a few minor mods over that winter, and it ended up this, which is very nice .I had the pleasure of seeing it in its Original Silver too,a few years earlier, and it was a very good condition car,so it was truly a big ,brave thing to do .
The end product is amazing. Think the colour is a Mercedes or Chevrolet colour,as opposed to a BMW one
Lovely though.

That, from the pictures, is possibly the most beautiful and tastefully modded E85, in fact Z4, I've ever seen.

I want it, I really want it.

Agreed. Posting negative comments about a vehicle on a 'for sale' ad is bang out of order IMHO. It's a for sale ad not a "let's discuss my car" thread.

Youve both been on the forum long enough to know how it works with regard sale posts of cars or items so drop the pretend offence  all you are doing is drawing attention to what what i said.
Sale ad discussions are not just for the seller but for any potential buyer also so whilst you all scatter confetti over the car no one has even mentioned the price , £7k ?
"unique " no doubting , tasetefully modded & well presented maybe but its a 83k 2003 2.5se that would struggle to see £4k right now .

Nay, nay Mr Wilks, posture as much as you like. Your statement quoted above is not "to help a potential buyer", it's just a nasty little put-down. Do you know the seller? Why such negativity?

In all my time on this forum I think one critisicm that counldn't be levelled at Mr W is nasty..he's been one of the most helpful people I've ever virtually met on a forum, I think that statement does help a potential buyer make an informed choice, as is rightly pointed out no matter how well modded it is it still a 2.5se and if a buyer is happy with that and is willing to pay a premium then at least they now know if they didn't before..don't see a problem really myself, I've sold cars on here too and am always happy to recieve comments good or bad

And he unpicked all the black stitching in the interior himself and redone in orange.
And a real nice guy as well.

It has perfect paint. a £4K Z4 would likely need multiple spot repairs or a respray in most cases.

How much is a very good respray these days in a decent paint £3K minimum?
Then you have quad exhausts - how much is that mod worth and it's something a lot of people would want myself included. Not cheap otherwise we would all have them.
Seats - Easily another £1K if old tatty M sports sell for £800.

Then you have the alloys, bodykit, numerous other mods, suspension and brake upgrades, etc all together worth a lot of money.

The only downside is it's a 2.5l but that's still the M54 engine and I agree it would have been perfect with a 3 litre but that's one minor downside especially for a car that is more of a pleasure to look at and with so many positives. I don't think £7k is too expensive however it does need the right buyer. The mods alone are probably worth £7K on top of the car. If OP put this up for much cheaper he would have a queue around the block. The major thing stopping it is that it is so unique and all mods have been personally done to their own taste it will require the right buyer. That's always the case with a heavily modified car. If I was to perform all those mods to my car I'd be looking at a bill of at least £10k.

I still think its a gorgeous looking car, for me the 2.5 is fine, it's still a 6 cylinder and sounds great, nice seats, the M sport front and back and exhaust and that colour, well, if I hadn't bought mine only 7 months ago it would be on my driveway now and bought at that price. Thing is you can't compare this car to a standard Z4 because it aint, as someone previously said it is a one off and as such is worth what someone will pay and to me its worth every penny he is asking purely on looks alone.
