Selling my green 1997 Golf GTI. 6 months tax and MOT on it. 149k miles.

The good bits:

The car is mechanically sound. It's recently had all of the bushes replaced, new wishbones, Air-con, suspension, track rod ends & brake pads. It had a new battery and alternator fitted 14 months ago.
It's been regularly serviced and was last done 500 miles ago (plugs and oil - air filter was perfect).

On an average town run, it gets about 33-35mpg.
Out on the motorway, it turns in about 35-37mpg at 70.

It has working air-con, decent aftermarket Sony radio / cd player (which has full iPod/iPhone support, usb port, pre out, aux in, mp3 cd support), electric windows all round (with the rear ones having a minor problem, mentioned below).

Things that don't work:

back left electric window doesn't close automatically. It is a plastic clip that's broken and I've not bothered to fix it. They're about a tenner to buy online (http://www.windowregulatorshop.co.uk/) but I just couldn't and cant be arsed.
The electric motor runs and operates perfectly fine, as does the regulator itself (you can hear it raising and lowering - it just doesn't move the glass back up, as the clip has broken. It does however work when opening!

back right electric window doesn't open automatically. Exactly the same issue as the other side, but instead of not going up, it doesn't go down. You can still open the window by pushing the glass down with your hand. And once opened a bit, it will close automatically when you press the button.

Speedo doesn't work most of the time. This is likely the speed sensor that plugs into the gearbox. they're made of plastic and snap over time.
I replaced it when I got the car and it cost me £57 from the dealer.

Small oil leak from the transmission. Its a very minor leak and is NOT an MOT issue, nor a usability issue.. you just need to check the transmission every 12 months and top it up if required (I added less than a cup of oil at the previous MOT, and it needed less at the most recent).

The left rear door had a bad scratch that has been repaired, but in direct light you can see the paint doesn't match. it's also missing the outer plastic trim strip on that door.. though I actually have the part still, it requires three plastic clips - about 40 pence each from the dealer.. but again I couldn't be arsed.

Finally, the gear selector is getting a bit worn, meaning you sometimes have to give it a little "tap" to get it into gear if you're trying to drive it fast. It's a stupid designed part by VW, which clearly was designed to wear out over time, and they charge £37 for a new bit! Cheeky gits.

All in all, I reckon the total cost to fix it would be around £100-£150. Less if you did the work yourself.

I'm not going to lie about it.. it has its faults (mentioned above), and it's body work isn't exactly "pristine", but it starts first time every time, never let me down and makes a great little run around - multistory carpark battler.

No idea what I want for it, but I know I want it gone.
I bought it for £750 two years ago.
Make me a decent offer and it's yours

edit: decided on a starting price of £350, but open to respectful offers ;)

Getting the bushes, suspension and exhaust done for the last MOT. Also shows the door "post-fix" for the big scratch:
