I can not believe the price of this car and it must be a scam.

I have reported the ad to Autotrader as it is so misleading. If it is your advert, sorry, but its not right to dupe folk.

If its for real, someone has got the sale of the century.
 
I pretty much ignore any adverts on autotrader that contain the line "contact me by email". Think they're all scams advertising decent cars a ludicrously low prices
 
I have just sold one car (MX-5) and am looking to buy another (Lexus IS 250 SE-L).

You would not believe the number of scams (including text messages asking me to email them which then leads to false payment scams, very underpriced cars which are being held on an army base as the seller is out of the country, etc, etc) I have seen.

I earn my living in Information Security, and have over 20 years' experience in this area, so I like to think that i have some idea of what I am doing, but it's a total minefield for people who are not internet savvy, or who are very trusting by nature.

In general, if it looks too good to be true, then it is!

(The only area worse than cars, believe it or not, is cats. I was astonished at how many scams there are in the kitten/cat selling world!)
 
Absolute scam. Autotrader is littered with these.

"unfortunately I am only contactable on email"

Often a decent, well specced car with good photos for sale at an absolutely silly price.

Good work reporting it.
 
You get loads of these on Pistonheads too, I always report them. What I don't understand is why they make the price so unbelievable, you would think that most people will go by the 'too good to be true' rule but obviously not. Their scam would be more believable if they just knocked say 15-20% off the true value, not about 80%!
 
Unfortunately both me and my dad thought an ad like this was for real... however a very quick google search shows it up as a fairl common scam...

they say they can only be contacted by email due to the fact they have moved abroad (stationed in Gibraltar with the army and will have buddy show you around). I saw at least 2 of these on autotrader whilst looking for my coupe.
