Seeking wiring info please

All the talk of mods on this forum has prompted me to resurrect my plan to look at retrofitting door handle lighting to my E89

(thanks PVR, that's my weekends ruined then...) :poke:

Last time I was in the door, doing the speaker upgrade, I did not spot anything that looked like a socket or 'piggy back' to plug a loom into. I'm working on the premise that BMW wiring is typically plug and play, so expected that the little loom (that I have purchased) would plug in somewhere in the door.

Anyone got any useful E89 info on this please? - anyone (with extended lighting) been inside the door yet?

Thanks

Chris

I'd like to second that request, i've just ordered some led puddle lights to retro fit my doors. The recess is there in the doors and i've got the the lenses in the door handles for the door lights, but they don't light up. So asume the bulbs or led are not fitted. Also have no foot lights.
Anybody know if the wiring might be there, but just not connected.
Or are BMW so stingy as to use different wiring looms for different specs.

I dont know for sure, but when I moaned to my dealer once about how difficult it can be to retrofit things on BMW cars, he told me it was because the wiring looms in the car are tailored for the equipment at build time. This may or may not be true, but would explain why the wires you need arent visible. Or they may just be well hidden?
