Then I'm mad, I work hard for my stuff, no C@nt is going to walk away with anything, just by knocking on my door and demanding

I understand what you say but what if he / they are massive and have something sharp, heavy or could go bang?
Maybe for people who are worried that this sort of thing could happen could purchase a spare key that doesnt actually work in the car.
Hand the useless key over to the thug, close the door and while they are NOT stealing your car phone the police.

Just hand over the real key and let them get on with it , it's insured . Fighting back is only any good if your a hundred per cent confident in your own abilities and comfortable with physical violence , as mentioned , there will be more than one , probably carrying a weapon or two and more likely to use it than anyone on this forum . Give them a false key and you'll inflame an already bad situation , don't forget , they know where you live and all they will get is slapped on the wrists for threatening behaviour if you've handed over a dodgy key so probably come back .
That said , it'll never happen with a z4 , I can't imagine they are valued on the foreign market and they aren't any good as a get away car , large luxury cars are the order of the day apparently .
the guy I mentioned before lost an Audi rs6 , found burnt out a long time later .

I dont think your insurance would be too happy paying out for a car that you handed over the key to.
I hope I am never in that situation but I dont think I could willingly hand over my car key, no matter what car I owned.

They would have to uncover my car and then move another car to have a chance, Oh and I wouldn't just hand over the keys either

You'd be mad not to if they were serious .

Yeah bloody Christian Aid envelope collectors!

There's being sensible and there's making your life more complicated that it needs to be. There's a chance some one could break into our garage tonight and nick the Zed. I'd be gutted., Then I'd fill out he forms and get over it. Not about to start spending time editing my life on line.

When your looking for cars on Auto Trader, you can usually work out the Post Code they are being sold from, on private sales, in a couple of minutes. Easier to go nick one of those than trawl the Z4 fotum, on the off chance you might recognise a location where there is a specific car you wish to go steal. I'm bot saying it couldn't happen, just such a low possibility that I'm prepared to forget it. :)

Sorry Ron, they would have to get passed the electrified fence, the guard dogs and my wife
