Just a quick question,
I'm looking at a second hand quaife, it's apparently for a 188k diff will this fit into our diff casings??
Also is there anything to look out for or should be replaced as a matter of course?
Check with quaife/birds.
The diffs are made for specific ranges of final drive ratio ranges.
So for example a diff for a 3.46 final drive ratio wont fit a 3:07 final drive ratio.
I'm not 100% sure but I think everything between 2.93 and 3.23 drive ratio is 1 diff and everything between 3.24 and 3.46 is another diff, and then there is another for above 3.46 (and there are probably also specific diffs for below 2.93 but thats bmw diesel terratory)
Thank you, that's brilliant info.
The diff I was looking at states "Suited to a car with a Crown wheel and Pinion setup less than 3:1"
The cwp on the 3.0i is 3.07 isn't it?
