Second Hand Coupe Prices

How about 150 mile 2008 car for 26800squids.......but I think the Bronze colour might be a reason for the lower price.
I`m still thinking about upgrading from my 2006 3.0 Coupe to either a late 2008 3.0 or ///M. I really like the Z4 Coupe so am tempted to buy a late low milage car to last me a long while (maybe as long as 10 years!).

The 3.0 is really great so I`m not even so bothered about an ///M....but I`m tempted and might go to see the car mentioned above

Well had another nosey at these today and they are becoming limited. Only 5 listed on pistonheads and 5 on the AUC.

prices high again on the AUC too.

Be interested to see what effect the new model has, but definitely looks like our prices have bottomed out now.

Not selling or buying any cars for some time to come I think....

I thought my 6k discount of a 47k car was pretty impressive in 2007.

Looking around Piston Heads yesterday and came across this:

What a difference a year makes!! :o

It was never £49k retail - my invoice price was less than that, even with £5k of extras.

Just remember that the coupe is cheaper then the roadster ...

It was!

I only managed £2.5k and played dealers off each other too.

I'm going to check the market in Feb next year and decide then. Can't decide whether to stick another 12 months warranty on and have it a further year or just change.

Will see

That year old Sepang Bronze coupé looks good value for £27k if it really only does have 150 miles on the clock :?

Sepang does look much nicer in the flesh too - plus it'll be rare :P

I also expect that £24k Monaco Blue coupé that's 'coming soon' to go quite quickly.

Bronze 150 mile coupe (actual 170+ miles) isn`t perfect. It a Nov 2007 car that was registered later in March 2008. It has a few little bits of damage and the interiour has been replaced by a different coloured interiour from a 5000 mile+ car. It is also an ex demo car. Regarding the interiour, another customer wanted to change his interiour so he paid to have it swapped over with the interiour from the Bronze car. As these cars become rarer over the next few years and longer, real enthusiats will demand originallity if they`re paying good money - but already it`s had an interior change. Everyone I have mentioned it to (including my local dealer) shake their heads at the interiour change.

I did make an offer on the car and it was rejected and I walked. I would like the 'ultimate' Z4 for the right price but not too bothered either. Day to day the Z4 3.0 is better anyway :poke: .

Of course, you'd want any damage rectified by the dealer before buying it - but even so, it can't have been used for many demo's or by the original owner if it's only got 150 miles on the clock? I did 60 miles on my test drive!

If we're worried about originality then I hope everyone on here has kept every little part they've taken off their cars to replace with shorter, fatter, louder, clearer, darker parts. Does that also mean the value of mine will drop because I've added cupholders, extended storage and a fire extinguisher as they were not on the original invoice?

I do agree that the addition of the 'older' interior would be a little worrying as after 6,000 miles in mine I've seen how cheap the leather in these cars is compared to the leather in my 1990 M5. Although come 50,000 miles down the line, you're not going to notice the difference between 55k leather and 50k leather of the same colour.

I know what you`re saying but each to their own. Me, I don`t want something modded, darkened, louder etc than standard. I want something that will be kept original by me and one day if a real enthusiast wants to buy it they`ll pay good money. I`ve owned classic ///M`s before and know how an*l some enthusiasts/collectors can be if they`re paying up good money in the future. Yes they will get the original factory spec sheet and compare it with the car for example.

You might not of read my follow up comment but I did make an offer on it , the offer being what I considered it to be worth and it was rejected. If I did buy it or ifI buy one, it would be a long term purchase.

Also, sorry I should of clarified. Yes the car was a kind of demo car. It has only had one previous owner - a BMW dealership. The dealers now selling it bought it from the other dealership. Obviously it hasn`t done that many test drives

Mine will also be a long-term purchase, but I can't see it being worth a premium as it'll have over 100,000 miles on it within 5 years :P

Yes, but a 100,000 mile original car might be worth more than a 70,000 mile car that has been messed around with

You haven't seen my driving have you

The Sepang car is now sold - not to me I might add. I did make a second offer on the car and that was rejected  They did however get back to me with another price but I left my phone in work over the weekend and didn`t get the voicemail. By the time I found out about their offer to me and I got back to them it was already sold - so the car is now sold to someone else.

oh well, it just wasn`t meant to be.

it`s funny, that`s only the second Coupe I`ve been interested in and both sold to people who have had to BORROW money to buy the cars. Haven`t people learned already  - the world is teetering on the verge of bankrupcy. Lets all save for things we want to buy like the chinese do, borrow only for property  Having said that, maybe putting 20+ grand into the stockmarket for five years while borrowing 20+ grand at a low APR to buy a car wouldn`t be a bad strategy so I`m sure credit can be put to good use sometimes.

Bad luck on the car :(

I actually travelled to see one, on appointment, and when I arrived it had sold 4hrs earlier. Was a bit gutted to find the person I'd booked to meet (the garage owner) wasn't even there, and hadn't let me know before driving an hour to go see it :(

I just think it must not have been the one to have :)

But credit is ok on a car with good residuals. It's the nutters who paid list price for diesel Vectra's and the like you have to worry about! I rekon these M Z4 Coupe's have done better than houses and most normal savings accounts since November :D

Eh Darren that's some controversial talk there mate. I choose to buy my car on finance (although we do own the wife's car) and channel my spare cash into paying my mortgage off. I don't care what's going on in the world with house values as i'm not moving therefore it doesn't matter to me. It's much more important that my family always has a roof over their heads and food on the table than me owning my cars. As with all things those, it's all opinion, and that's my opinion.

Hi,new member here.
Been following this thread with interest as i was also looking at the Bronze car!!
Anyway ive now bought it!! :)
Quite happy to have a rare colour and not perturbed at all to use some finance and not all cash!!

Going to have a look at it this afternoon and hopefully collect before Easter.

Firstly my comment RE:Finance was a little tongue in cheek, maybe some took offence - sorry. Hell I`ve even used finance before but back then it paid more to keep the money in a savings account. Today I can`t imagine credit rates being that low but I personally wouldn`t borrow money to make a purchase at the moment especially for a number of reasons.

Anwyay, congrats Milu on the purchase. I was after a good deal too  I`ll wait and see if anything else comes along but I`m really happy with the 3.0 also so will be just as happy to get my £`s worth out of it. I may watch the White one for a while and might make an offer but have no time to have a look at it right now. I now know what price I could of bought the Bronze one at so that helps getting the price right for any future offers I make

Please post your thoughts and experiences of the ///M when you get it. Enjoy! :D
