Seatbelt warning passenger seat

Morning all,

So my latest zed has an intermittent fault, I knew about it when I bought it, so it’s not a surprise.

No airbag lights on, passenger on board with seatbelt plugged in and the seat warning for ‘no seat belt’ bongs away - but it’s intermittent. Doesn’t happen at all if passenger seat empty.

I’ve read that it can be coded out, but just wonder if there’s any risk to this? Wouldn’t want a pre-tensioner not working in the event of an accident for example.

Any thoughts from the serial fixer-uppers…. You know who you are :D

Probably the seat buckle sensor is faulty.
I have one I could send you but can't send explosives in the post.

You can code it out but then you won't know if the occupancy sensor fails.
If you code it out I would fit an occupancy sensor bypass so that the passenger airbag is always live whether a passenger is in the seat or not.
