Seatbelt warning light and bong

Really concerned had an Audi TT That started doing weird stuff like this. Cost a fortune to fix. Basically i was driving last night moving along and all of a sudden the seat belt warning light in the dash. And the bong for no reason? I checked my seat belt it was connected fine. I did have some stuff on the passengers seat. The road was a bit bumpy. Could it have been the seat thinking there was someone sat the not buckled in? It was only a small light box! Please someone tell me i don't have electrical gremlins :( :thumbsdown:

Has it happened to anyone else????
 
Probably just been the stuff you had on it.

Don't think anyone's experienced seat belt warning light issues.

If it triggers and you are moving just lift the handbreak a fraction and it will reset it for the rest of that journey.
 
Sounds like package set off sensor, you can deactivate warning via SSSv32 coding in retro section.

Amazing Avatar I think i went to school with her ( i wish ) Dont mean to sound like a complete dullard. But what and how? Do i plug something in what can i change? This is extremely interesting? I guess there is info on the forum i will take a look. Thanks Liam -O

Yes, you need a OBD2 cable and software. You have a few options:

Buy from bmtechnic.co.uk

If you don't mind traveling, I could do

There's a topic on here with people who have bought the cable and may be closer to you.

You can go to a BMW dealer or Indy who can do for you.

Also you can change lots of settings with the software.
 
That is very kind of you. I wouldn't fancy getting the software and doing it myself. I struggle uploading pictures and posting on hear. Birmingham is not far i am in Oxford. I am in no hurry maybe i could pop along to you? Be nice to meet a member maybe even try and get a few of us for a little drive?? Thank Liam.

remember that the the de-activation of seatbelt warning is in th retro section and that you meed to have installed changes.iso to the SSS v32 software otherwise you cannot get into this area.

Baically in the retro section the software checks the voltage (top right) on program, it must be over 13 volts to work, the software will show 12. something volts and it will tell you to connect to battery charger, this makes no difference as its a cracked software. By installing change.iso this allows you to alter the figure to 14v thus alllows the program to work.

Mac, I have patched my software (took an eternity!) but worth it to retrofit my xenons.

MM, let me know a date when or if you want to do it. Preferably Sunday's but can do the occasional Saturday or Thursday. It's a straight forward process but I can't accept liability if anything goes wrong, you can press the buttons.
 
Thanks LIam busy the next few weeks what else can be altered? I am not sure if I need the sensor deactivating it just came on once. If it keeps happening then its being turned off!! Thanks for the offer its very kind. Would be nice to hook up with some other zed heads :D
 
It depends on your car, but the basic ones are about doors locking when you drive of or if you dont open the doors. Visual alerts when you lock the car. Things around air cons etc. most is okay at default settings, I changed the 2 mentioned above to activate. Depending on model, closing the roof and folding door mirrors too...

It comes with other software I haven't looked at too around servicing and resetting fault codes and reading them.
 
mine goes of all the time tells me if she has had too much to eat !!! :rofl:
i just put up with it soon goes off any weight seems to set off.
It's a zed gremlin at work. :driving:

Closing the roof from the remote would be amazing if possible? Can do it with the key in the lock. Also I am keen to find out as much as I can. It's a dam good hobby. I have given up smoking to pay or petrol!!
