Seat question- e85 transplant motorised bases

Hi all

I’ve searched and can’t find a definitive on this

If I have a set of msport seats which are manual, can I transplant the motors, mech and switches from a set of SE standard seats?

If I recall the switchgear surrounds are different on the bases?

Anyone done this before?

Can't help you with that, sorry.
But I would question if it's worth it tbh?
Pretty sure I've found that there is less range of movement on the electric ones. Certainly don't seem to go as low.
 
I know when we looked at this for John, albeit to move motorised from se to se seats we decided it wasn’t worth the hassle…

Did you simply reuse everything from se seats?

Yes certainly less range of movement with electric seats (and I use it all). I'm hoping my son decides to sell his zed soon, so I can have the manual seats and dash out of it. But think I'll be waiting a long time...
 
I have manual in my one Zed and Electric in the other Zed and prefer the manual adjustment range.👍
 
Right, I have my seat all the way back and down and it's rare that anyone else drives it so having read the above observations I don't think I'll bother now :thumbsup:

This was done years ago by cj10jeeper there is a detailed post on here from when he did it.
