My driver side seat has an awful creaking nosie. Its on the side bolster closest the door. Im gussing a heavy set person must of owned the car first. Any idea what can be done other than a whole new seat. Ive put up with it almost a year but doing my head in now.

Cheers guys

If you have an hour you should be able to silence it. Remember that you need to disconnect the battery for 15 mins before removing the seat to avoid issues later. Good thread below including what I did, mine has been quiet for 2 years now :D

Spanner to undo the 4 nuts holding the seat to the runners, and the seat belt to the base of the seat. I think they are M10, but you can see the front seat bolts (need to remove the covering cap) with the seat moved back. Undo the front and rear nuts securing the seat to the runners before you disconnect the batter. Wait at least 15 minutes before disconnecting the electrical plug connector located under seat. I used a screw driver to gently pry the seatbelt guide apart. The GT85 PTFE spray is non greasy and doesn't stain or mark so gave the a good spray on the the leather bits where they hook round the seat frame. Also gave a squirt to any other plastic trim or joint which might cause a squeak as well

You will also need some Torque keys if I remember correctly

Cheers for your help. Il be honest that all scares the hell out of me.

If I can do it then anyone can, trust me. Of course it is easier to lift the seat out of a roadster than a tin top coupe :P
