Scissors....... :P

I have the OEM Fitted Z4 covers and they fit perfectly. Great for summer since they are cooler that the leather.

There are certainly good reasons for some people to use them to protect their seats, just as animal notes.

In the Jeeps we use them as you tend to be covered in mud and crud on event sand they can be just hosed of.

I have been tempted to fit covers myself, mainly to try and protect the bolsters which are now slowly starting to show signs of wear on my drivers seat where they get rubbed when getting in and out, I do leather feed/ wax on them every 4-6 months but it is a loosing battle.

I don't think covers will protect bolsters as they slide around even more on the leather. I think you need to change your style of getting in and out so as not to damage them. Viewed an Aston that a small guy had slid in an out over the seat base bolsterand on a 15k car they were totally trashed, inner foam torn, etc.

I tend to put leather car products on every couple of months and so far no wear at all.

I never understood why people put covers over there seats? :?

When you work in a workshop all day then you get in your car with creme seats. :x

I had an apprentice years ago who drove a new, white Corvette with a white interior. He would work on the job (construction sparky) all day then put on clean white coveralls and get in his car for the drive home. Easier than changing clothes I guess and it worked

I'm happy with the OEM seat covers. Part number 82 11 0 152 589. Ordered them from my dealer, but I had to give them the part number because they didn't seem to know how to find them on their own.

Thank you!

Do they fit correctly though? I find seat covers very hit and miss.

Yes, the genuine BMW OEM seat covers fit perfectly. They are comfortable, seem to be well made and I expect them to last a long time. And they were not terribly expensive.

You may find that UK dealers will claim no knowledge of certain accessories that our America/Continental cousins have easy access to - such as these seat covers, boot liners, Noah car cover, clear protection film, etc.
