Seat Covers (e89)

Has anyone bought seat covers for their e89 (sport seats) that fit nicely and are easy to put on/off and don't slide around material wise? Nothing fancy, but do the job without issue..

I've got some old blue nylon covers that I bought for my e85 but they're not really tall enough to fit the e89 and I don't want to make the same mistake again plus they stand out a mile when on. Seems the e89 will be staying and I need something to protect that white leather from doggy grime! (new doggy arrives this weekend)
 
Ok, don't laugh or get the RSPA on to me but i put the dog in the boot.
She happily lies there with her head poking through the ski hatch and resting on the centre armrest :D

I'm looking forward to an answer to your question Maniac as I can foresee a time when a seat cover (or two) would be very useful for us :thumbsup:

In terms of you dilemma, would it not be easier just to get a "doggy bag"?
They are after all readily available :roll:

(with no offence or harm intended to your new pooch :D )
 
I had a set of nylon type ones on the Sports seats in my previous 1 Series, problem is they tend to be baggy to accommodate the deep sculpting otherwise they will stretch and tear. Also need to be careful with the type of material so the dog doesn't go sliding all over the shop.

Something like these would be OK, I'm sure they would fit the Zed or drop the seller a mail.

Have the blue nylon ones from amazon they fit ok and I put a towel and drape over centre arm rest so he doesn't dribble on that.

I've thought about the boot with the hatch open but never tried it.
 
I have the perfect way to make sure the seats stay clean when I take the dogs out...
I take the wife's Juke!

I know some will say cruel but I knew a fella who used to transport his gun dog (Lab) in the boot of his Merc. At the end of the shoot he would simply dry the dog, open the boot and the dog would jump in without command.
 
Probably depends on the breed of dog you're getting but certainly with mine a seat cover won't be much help. Dog hair is near impossible to completely remove from carpets, plus drool thrown around and licking windows and chewing stuff. I found it simpler to buy a shed estate and just sacrifice it. The smell and state of a dog after its ploughed through mud on a walk isn't something is want in a nice car.
 
It's a small breed that doesn't shed hair. I got my first over 14 years ago and they're fine in the Z but I'd like some nice covers and the blue ones I have are a bit rubbish...

here she is at just 8 weeks old, she came home Saturday...

Cute little doggy Maniac, what breed is he/she, the wife's looking to gets us a small pooch and I'd love one that doesn't leave hairs everywhere
 
She's a miniature schnauzer, tiny at just 8 weeks but will be 3 times the size in 12 months time but still classed as a small dog. Incredibly intelligent dogs (in 2 days she's learned her name as well as commands to 'come' 'sit' 'wait' etc. they don't make any mess, don't shed hair, and have a great temperament.

Theyre not full seat covers but have to bear in mind side airbags which I wouldnt want covered. If the dog is travelling in the car then it will need a harness so a seat pad might be better solution.

When I saw your post Tim I thought you were advocating a kennel on the roof!
I contacted "Titan covers" (no relation) from your previous reply and they are happy to supply for the E89 having confirmed that the seat belt is not attached to the seat frame.

@Maniac - love the pooch - has she got a name?

It would have to be a roofbox or a trailer for a travelling pooch :evil:
