Seat change, then airbag light on!

I changed the seats, to the heated variety, and after changing the passenger seat the airbag light is now on. I took the battery off for half-an-hour, put it back on but the airbag light is still on.

I did the driver's seat yesterday, and before doing so I took the battery off. Completed the seat, all was good.

I did the passenger's seat today, but I left the battery connected. Completed the seat, airbag light on.

Are the replacement seats from a facelift?

Unsure; the driver's side clearly isn't, that worked fine yesterday; I doubt they're not a matching pair, but, I'm fairly sure the donor car was a '55 plate...

Look under the passenger seat you took out and you'll see a black box a bit smaller than a deck of cards.

Now look under your new seat and find the same black box.

If it's missing you'll need to move that black box over to your new seat and buy an occupancy sensor bypass and plug it into the black box.

But before you do anything else get a code reader on the b-pillar sensor and clear the error code.

You didn't say whether you cleared the error code. If you didn't then it's bound to come back on even after disconnecting battery.

I haven't, yet, but I'm just about to go outside and reset any codes.

Did you disconnect the battery during seat swap, or only after as an attempt to clear the light? The proper way iri avoid dash light is to disconnect during the install.

Only way to close is to use a device. I’m sure there’s others but I use this scanner when my wireless/phone doesn’t work. And this one is capable of clearing airbag codes:

Where are you located, might be someone local who can reset.
