seat belt lights and no alarm

hi all, a new guy has a bmw z4 2.5 2003
i found my seat belt light will never stay on the dash when im not bucking my seat belt, also found no alarm sound as well, the warming light will come out when turns the key like normal but turn off straight way after few sec whenever the seat belt on or not is that a problem at all? the manual says will alarming when driving without a seat belt, can anybody tell me how to turn this on? because my passgner always forget to wear seat belt, this will fines too much in australia

As long as you are actually wearing your seatbelt, I don't think it should be a problem. It's a serious problem in an accident when not wearing a belt and the airbags deploy. You could likely be out of proper position, which could result in serious injury. The forces involved with airbags are truly enormous.

Issues with sensing the passenger are often the occupancy sensor mat in the seat. Since you have issues with the driver side as well, I'm not convinced this is the problem. Unfortunately, I've no idea what could be the problem on the driver's side.

Thanks for your commons. I'm actually had the car for 3years and never been to a seriously accident so I never know was that sensor stuff is a problem or not. I just wanna my car to be original. I don't mind the alarm always come out as not fasten the seat belt. So anyone know is it a problem can be done by program by bmw or it is something I don't have in my car.?
