Searching for "rare" spec

That's a nice find! Rare to have a car this old without the front plate holes, so I'm guessing that the bumper has been replaced or filled. Get the carfax on it for negotiation on price and get it before it disappears.

You may have noticed the majority on this forum are UK-based, though a lot more people from over the pond are joining lately.
Have you considered getting one wrapped?

Yes, but unfortunately I love the interior of the atacama yellow cars. I suppose if one comes my way that is not an m sport, I wouldn't mind too much. The idea of supercharging the N/A cars is interesting. Although I can't find any supercharger kit for the N52

Aw man I’ve been looking at that one. It isn’t manual though! I have found a few 35i, manual, yellow, m sport cars floating around for sale of forums dating back many years. Guess I’ll just wait and try to get lucky and bounce on the deal if it comes up. Although if I can find a high mileage yellow 30i car, it will be getting a supercharger

So I found out that LHD 35i in AY 110 units total of which 26 went to Germany..can't get a split between DCT and manual..so less than 90 were sold worldwide

For a nation brought up on crappy auto boxes I'm at a loss as to why a decent DCT box doesn't do it for you..

Just set it to manual mode everytime you start it..

Far better when you tune it!

I'm trying to get him in that car :P

In all honesty, I haven’t driven the DCT car. I drove the 8 speed, which felt similar to my ZF8 speed Alfa. It’s a great transmission, but I’m done with auto sports cars! I’m cross shopping with a manual 987.2 (also pretty hard to find) even though the PDK is a great transmission. I just keep settling for the auto cars, I need a stick!

No worries..the 'it isn't a real car unless its got a non synchro mesh double declutch manual gearbox' crew will be along to justify your decision!-:)

Plus it will make your search so much harder!-:)

Not mnay N54 E89s wer made with a stick..surprising quite a few 30i were auto too!

Good lad!
An auto with flappy paddles and 1, 2 or 17 clutches, no matter how you try and justify it, isn't a manual gearbox. And no matter what anyone says, an automatic is not as 'user friendly' as a manual, cos you ain't got total control of it.

Unless it has a pedal to work the clutch, it's an automatic. It really is as simple as that.

The only caveat is that BMW manual gearboxes are pretty shite TBH. :o :D

I currently have manual BMW numbers 7 and 8 and the Getrag gearboxes in 7 of them have ranged from baggy/notchy/recalcitrant to slick. :?

My MC has a ZF and while it needs firm shifts overall I prefer it.

There you go, OP. You’re welcome.

Don’t worry about botching it. It’s bloody ugly anyway. :fuelfire:

There were only around 90 manual 35i models in this country to begin with
Is this correct? I didn't realise the 35i manual was so rare in the UK

About 330 35i of both ‘normal’ and ‘MSport’ left ..

92 MSport 35i manual..
