Se seats - more room?

I've a si, but recently drove an se, and it felt like there was more leg room available

I messed with the seat adjusters and seat height, but got comfort with se seats due to more legroom.

Does the se seat just have less padding?

Depends on your body shape I suppose.
Personally I prefer the M Sports seats. They do have more bolster support - so they 'hug' more. They also have a longer seat base which gives better thigh support imo. I found that you sit 'on' the SE seats as opposed to sitting 'in' the M Sport Seats. I find there's no comparison and didn't feel the SE seats gave more leg room, however I've heard a few members saying otherwise.
Technically there is more room as the SE seat are smaller, I will say also that the SE seats are easier to slide in and out of due to the lower (non-existent) side bolsters and shorter seat base, but once you're in the M Sport Seat it beats the SE hands down in terms of support and comfort imo. I'm a slim 5 foot 11 if that helps

Si = engine specification (facelift only)

Sport/SE = trim classification (Sport facelift only, SE pre and post facelift)

Current seats are perfect condition, and will stay in the garage loft if I do swap them. I'm sure that most folk would want them in resale...

Nope, could be an SE with sports seats, or a Sport model.

I seem to remmber being told that the Sports seats have a more ponounced curve to their backs that means that they cant go as far back as the standard seats.

Cant say yea or nae to that, cos I just have the Sports seats.

Having had both I can't say I noticed that.

Steve, You're more than welcome to try my SE seats side by side with yours to see if you can see a difference. I'm not that far away from you.
