Morning all!

It looks like I may be re-joining the Z4-fold sooner than I had anticipated.

I am hopefully off to view an sDrive 23i and an sDrive30i this afternoon, both in M-Sport Highline edition guise.

My question before I head down to the dealer....

Can anyone here give any first hand experience of the real-world MPG figures for both and how differently they will realistically be for day to day use?

It will be my only car.

Cheers!!
Stuart

Haven't bothered keeping a check on my mpg i've had it up to 39 and as low as 20 according to the car so i guess somewhere inbetween :?
I'm sure there will be someone along with more info

Thanks for that... I was working on an average around the low to mid 30's as a chunk of my commute is going to be motorway/A roads.

How do you find the car for power delivery? I'm yet to drive either, so don't know if the 23i will be adequate or if I'd regret not getting the 30i!

To be honest never had a problem with the power in the 2.3 until i tried to catch up with Craig3.0 on the Braemar hoon his M wiped the floor with mine on the straight
So if the doubt is in your mind maybe the 3.0 is the one

My E89 3.0 averages about 31/32mpg. - that's combined driving. you can expect that in the real world.

I got 44mpg from Heathrow to Birmingham once as an 'experiment' but it's not much fun... :P

Well I have driven both, and just put my money on a sdrive30i

23i is adequate, but think the 30i is an ideal balance. 35i would be nice, but I feel if I go for that I might aswell get a M5.... :)

Get the 30i, not much more in the grand scheme of things

Thanks Stu!

I have this evening put a deposit on a 2011 sDrive 30i in Deep Sea Blue with beige leather!

Great news, collecting mine Thurs AM identical spec but 09 plate. Got to love that six cylinder!

i had a 23i for 2 years+, averaged around 33mpg on a fairly typical mix of town and motorway commute for work. on a longish motorway drive it gave around 38mpg.

now i have a 28i which is giving about 35mpg urban (i don't do the motorway commute anymore, retired now :D ) and a brilliant (to my mind) 45mpg motorway performance at a steady(ish) 75mph.

Good choice, Skillick. Reply is a bit late I know but for what it's worth, I've had my 3.0i M Sport, also a 2011, for about a fortnight now and am averaging around 36MPG. I tend to drive extremely lightly but every now and then, when the road's completely empty, I bang my foot down just to hear the engine. It's intoxicating.
