Sdrive 23i MPG

Morning all,

I’m thinking about an sdrive 23i for my next daily driver. What MPG can I realistically expect with a mixture of town and rural driving. My commute is mostly single carriageway rural roads and I arrange between 35 and 40 mph taking into account the need to go through some small villages on the way to work.

You should be able to get mid 30's if it's steady going, I'm averaging 38 mpg doing 500 miles a week of mostly motorway driving.
 
went away for a few days driving on all types of roads filled up after 370 miles which cost £61 it worked out just over 36mpg :)
not bad for a 2.5 engine as i did'nt hang about a lot of the time, Im very pleased & sure you will be :driving:

My daily drive with my 23i (auto) sounds similar to yours. I averaged 36mpg on the OBC with very careful driving.

The 35iS I have now averages 32mpg on the same journey.

Not bad at all.
 
My old 3 2.5 manual did 310 to 340 miles on 48 ish liters so 30 to 32 mpg. Mainly 50 miles per day on fairly hilly country roads averaging 38 mph. Around derbyshire. Book quotes 33

My first tank in my new 3.0 auto did 307 miles with 50 liters so works out at 28. And I'm messing about a bit

I think this will get a bit better as Im going for a week in manual as I think in full auto its been hanging on low gears longer than I would around the country roads. Even in tohe 2.5 it has enough power in 6th to eat most roads, the auto thinks I want to be racing all the time. The eager auto and the slide up to 3.0 seems to be a bigger upgrade in performance than I would have expected.

Cost wise in fuel is possibly 10% not uprising as the number of horses that can be unleashed
 
I've done just under £3k miles so far in my 23i, mostly commuting at rush hour on a dual carriageway :headbang:

So far my average speed is 22 mph and my mpg is 27 :x

I think i'm a bad example though, I do put my foot down at weekends just to get all the weekday frustration out of my system :driving:
