Does anyone know anything about SDM Modules????

From what I understand It tells everything about your car, if you have an accident, it will tell all about it, speed, airbags, etc. & can be reset.

My question is, does anyone know MORE about this module???

I am very interested because when I had a rear end hit, the bodyshop said my car was at the BMW shop to have the airbag light turned off. The airbag didn't come out, why was the light on??

I've never heard of a module that stores crash data. The airbags shouldn't deploy in a rear end collision. The most common cause for an airbag light are seat belt pretensioner (seat belt buckles), which contract and lock in the event of an accident. Also, many BMW's have a BST, or battery safety terminal, which fires and severs the battery cable in the event of an accident, to prevent an electrical fire.

Yes I knew about the battery cable, but after 4 hard hits and 190 ft later nothing happened. The car started right up, seat belt light never came on. There is a module that does all the tracking (like onstar) in a Z. I asked if they changed it, they said no, my attorney also wanted to know about the car and module and was there a defect with the car.
