Scubs alternative Christmas thread.

As some as you know, I'm in Barbados for a month and getting married here on January 9th.

We have friends and family arriving from the UK and friends from Barbados, US and Canada coming to the wedding, 23 guests in all.
We normally stay with friends in there beachfront condo, but felt we could not impose on them for a month so are in a hotel for the first 20 days, then another friend who also has a condo is giving us that to ourselves for the last 8 nights.

I'll post some pics and a bit of a blog, if there is any interest.

Day one, Thursday 21st we arrived at our hotel around 5pm. Went out for a few drinks and ate off one of the food stalls, in bed for 9.30 Barbados time so up for around 21 hours.

Day 2 was supermarket, checking my dive gear and setting up a new BCD, then Oistins for the Friday night fish fry. A little fishing village that is heaving on Fridays with rum shops selling cheap rum, beer and food and live music.

8 of us ate and had 3/4 drinks each for around $150.

Pic of view from hotel balcony.

Congratulations on getting married. You can't live all your life being happy :D

Good choice getting married in the Caribbean, I got married 30 years ago in St. Lucia and the photos still look amazing. Keep posting especially of your big day.

Will be in Mauritius on the 9th so will raise a glass to you and your wife's good health and happiness

That seems a bit harsh to be fair.

I was buzzing when we flew out of Heathrow to get married on the beach in Mauritius. Even though we now have different addresses 20 years later.

Alternative post. It feels like someone is showing off.

No it's not.

The alternative to Turkey dinner, present's, crap TV, family etc.

It might be a few weeks away from normal life with love and joy. [ref]Scubaregs[/ref], for example,
what better time to spend enjoying passion for your hobby and passion for the love of your life, wife
Congrat's.

My alternative Christmas and new year is some what different  please share so i can in now way get jekous

Sounds awesome! What's the diving like there? Only dived Tobago which was lovely but heard the rest of the Caribbean can be a bit hit and miss

I hope you and Lynn have a great time Craig and congratulations.

Sorry I couldn't come out there with you but that is because I WASN'T INVITED! :D

I want to embed the video here, rather than a link.

I tried to embed from you tube and failed . Followed the instructions on the internet but it didn`t work . Don`t know if it is a forum thing . I shall do a post on the forum to see if anyone knows if it can be done .

I feel the need to pop down to Weston Super Mud to take some comparative photos’s, less inclined to get married this week :?

Congratulations

Reefs are quite small generally, lots of turtles and can get barracuda. Lionfish are a problem, we kill those we see. Some good wrecks though.
