Nightmare. Have tons of tread left in my back tires and have a bloody screw right in the middle of the tire. Would anyone know of anywhere in the Romford area that would be able to repair????

Really can't afford new tires at the moment.

Nightmare.

they will say that you can not repair,if it has not been runflat I am sure it can be done,is it loseing air, if not unscrew it,if loseing srew back in and seak a repair, also comes down to what is on the sidewall some say no some yes,not sure what you have. my local will if not been run flat. :(

Just tried unscrewing. 3/4 of the way out and air started leaking. Screwed back in so need to try find someone who can repair in the mornIng.

I had a front driver side puncture and 4 tyre shops said they wdnt repair it - Eventually found one who would - Just cost £14.

A month later had another puncture driver side rear - Pumped it full of HOLTS goo and it has been fine for 11 months now

Hi Pilly,

Have you tried Elite in Rainham? They're not far from Romford, and are pretty good - I usually go there for any tyres/puncture repairs I need. I don't know if they'll refuse to fix a puncture on a runflat, I've never asked as not been in that situation (yet) - but if the screw is right in the middle of the tread I don't see the problem.

Good luck!

If its in the centre of the tread and it hasn't been run with low pressure then its a simple vulcanising job. Just say bollocks to any tyre place that wants to sell you a new tyre.

Sorted

ATS are doing run flat repairs. U have to sign a disclaimer saying u haven't drove over 50miles at 50mph with low pressure and they will repair if not too close to sidewall. They also have new machines designed to make removal off run flats easier, bloke showed me how it works differently, def seemed to make his job easier. £20 all done.

They also said they have no probs replacing the run flats for normal tires.

Got work done at hornchurch branch.

Cheers for all the replies.
