Yep. Will save getting your headlight washers knackered as the temps drop too

Slight (but relevant) thread highjack (sorry OP), -who uses blue stuff and who uses pink stuff?

Oo-err, I prefer pink  (from Halfrauds) it seems to lubricate everything better, no juddering, and er, it matches all the other pink reservoiry stuff under the bonnet. :D

Oh yes and when I first got the car, it had rotten smelly blue stuff in that had gone off, lack of use I guess.

I just get the double pack of Holts Blue for £5 from Costco. Says it does down to -35ºC if used neat.

Does anyone have problems with screenwash staining?

My Z is midnightblue and suffers badly from watermarks. Screenwash, even watered right down, leaves white blotches which I struggle to remove even with a claybar. May be that it was too concentrated or something??

Is there a high quality 'conditioning' screenwash out there??

Thanks,
S

I dont know if any of you guys have heard about Legionnaires' disease??

If you dont use full concentrate screen wash and just use water or put water into your screen wash, what can happen is stagnant warm water is a breeding ground for Legionella bacterium, which when inhaled causes pneumonia. This can get into your ventilation system which then breeds in the air filters etc

Full concentration screen wash is anti bacterial so kills all the bacteria responsible. This is a pretty common issue because people skimp on screen wash.

Here is an article with more info:

I may be saying something most of you know but just for everyone else.

Remedy is new air filter and the aircon re-gassing

I had a scare with mine this morning. Pressure dropped down to a trickle. It was 2'c this morning. I am worried so didnt use screenwashers again.

Having Xenon makes me scared about breaking the washers due to frost :(

BMW screenwash quotes -63 degrees C :!: on the bottle and you won't have any warranty problems when a dealer spots the wrong colour in there!
