Hi All

Iv got an issue with the pressure of my screen washers they barely reach my screen (this has just started to happen) the headlight washers seem to be functioning fine, I have cleared the holes of any obstructions but the issue is still there, any ideas as to what could be the problem would be greatly appreciated, cheers

If you have used cheap washer fluid it can gum up the filters. On the washer bottle you will see where both motors sit. Under these is the mesh filters- have a look and see if the need cleaned

Did this job a recently on 2015 e89, the washer bottle was full of black furry algae.
I could here both motors working , it was the blocked filters in the bottom of the washer reservoir .From memory it was an easy removal of the reservoir, I don’t think I needed tools just methodical unplugging of the electricals and taking photos .Once out I jet washed the inside , got it pretty clean and refitted .
Back to pressure once it had pushed the fluid through .
I think I saw recommended to use decent washer fluid and not to mix

I've done that job on an E46 and an E86 but on those you needed to undo a couple of 10mm bolts to get the reservoir out. I cleaned the filters with an old toothbrush and flushed the reservoir.

Both times I just filled them with cheap Prestone screenwash from Tesco, but never anything else and never had a problem afterwards.

I know E85/86 headlight washers are prone to leaking, caps flying off and sometimes the whole jet escaping so I pulled the fuse on my last two E86s, but I don't know if the same applies to E89s.
